Clomid with TRT.............

one way step

New member
Anybody ever use Clomid either as a part of their TRT routine or on its own?

Currently I'm on 200mg test cyp per week with .25mg anastrozole. Works pretty well but the problem I have is with testicular athrophy and some issues with my sex drive. I've used HCG in the past to combat both with good results but over the past few years the HCG has caused too many sides that outweigh the benefit.

Would Clomid on TRT help either testicular anthropy or boost sex drive?

An AI is generally better then an fake estrogen like clomid. Clomid can lead to bad damages if you use it for longer time.
You should test your E2 level. Could be you take too much AI and your E2 is too low, what can cause the same problems like too high E2. ;)
Also you can try a suicidal AI like Aromasin, if you take it not daily, because a not suicidal AI like anastrozole can give you a heavy up and down of E2 so it will release the aromastase molecules after any time.
Could be HCG will not work forever to prevent shrinking testicles. Thinking also here could help a other AI.
Try it out... :)
Do you like make babies in the future? If not, let the balls shrink and don't think about it. If you are on real needed TRT you don't can go back and big balls are senseless.

Clomid is superior to HCG while on TRT. Especially if you are trying to conceive or increase chances of fertilization with your partner.

HCG should not bring about many side effects with long term use. What is your dosing on it? HCG is a very well tolerated compound by most all patients, however some do not tolerate well... All depends on DNA chemistry at the end of the day.

When I take HCG I would take 500iu once per week. It would give me a great boost to my sex drive plus completely reverse testicular athrophy. I've been on TRT for 11 years and originally started with HCG mono therapy (2500iu 3x per week) for one year then went to test cyp since with additions of HCG and anastrozole.

About two years ago I began getting bad side effects from HCG. It would cause major water retention that was uncomfortable and noticeable so I stopped it. Thus I have not been able to do much about the testicular athrophy. My sex drive also isn't as good but I use cialis 5mg daily plus viagara as needed.

I have tried letrozole as an AI instead of anastrozole and it led to mixed results. Might have been too strong.

I have used clomid on its own and raised my test level from 500 to over 800....know several people personally that have had similar results. I didn't love the way I felt with clomid only and experienced visual disturbances. Dosage was 50 mg per day and tried 25mg per day also. My testicles swelled to the point of slightly aching. My Dr prescribed me some to try with my trt but I have not added it yet.....as I have not experienced too much atrophy yet. Will chime in if / when I give it a try and let you know. Will be following to see what others say.

what is the current dosage of adex that you are taking?

You have been on HCG for a very long time. Very interesting that you have grown, somewhat resistant to it by now.

You should definitely give clomid run and see how you react

Typically take .25mg per week. Sometimes .5mg.

I had used HCG from 2006-2007 and then from 2012-2015 without any issue. Not sure why it stopped working well and began causing me these side effects then but I am very sensitive to it now.

Do you think the clomid would help with the testicular athrophy? As I am now pretty sensitive to HCG do you think there are side effects with clomid I should worry about? Should I take clomid with adex or just take clomid (in addition to test cyp?)

Thanks for your help.

Clomid will act as a mediator for LH jus as HCG so watch for same symptoms. Since you are changing up compound you should not be as sensitive to clomid. Definitely cont with Adex. Give it a try, really only way to find out if you are suited given genetics and physiological chemistry

Just as a personal experience frame of reference for you.....i have used 25mg per day to elevate my test from 575 to 890. A coworker and close friend of mine did the same to elevate from 450 to 725. Both had the same experience with fullness of testicles and a mild ache for the first couple of weeks. I did not like it as mono therapy, just felt a little brain fog and I had visual disturbances in the morning. Kind of like seeing trails I guess is the best description, faded as the day went on. I discontinued and went with trt. Experiencing atrophy now and will soon start clomid again, along with trt. Will share my experience when the time comes. My Dr wrote me a prescription for the clomid already.
I know this is not exactly what you are looking for, just wanted to share in hopes it would help. Both experiences given were mono therapy

So I took 12.5mg of clomid with my 200mg test cyp shot on a Thursday. I didn't take my anastrozole that day.

I noticed it killed my sex drive a little bit, and I sorta felt a little bloated. I did not notice much of a difference in testicular athrophy.

Think I just took too little? Or is this something that won't have much benefit for me?

The bloodwork I have is from a few months back. Here are the numbers;

Test: 642 ng/dl (range 348-1197)
Estradiol: 31.6 pg/mL (range 7.6-42.6)
Estrone, Serum: 84 pg/mL (range 12-72) high

The estradiol number was a cause of concern. I have typically felt better, and had a better sex drive, when my estradiol was in the teens (low teens for best results).

An issue I'm having with AI to control estrogen stem from the same problem I have with the HCG; negative body reaction. I can take .25mg of anastrozole but taking letrozole or HCG will lead to more bad than good. It wasn't always the case. In early 2015 I was prescribed a heavy dose of gabapentin that caused severe side effects so the medicine was stopped abruptly. Since then I have had these negative reactions to my TRT meds.

Curious that your estrone is high out of range, but E2 looks ok. This steroid tree shows E2 converting from test, and estrone converting from androstenedione - and E2 and estrone in equilibrium with each other.

Maybe just a tiny tiny bit more adex might help you feel better.
