Couch to start Sunday

Tim Couch is going to start against the Bengals this week instead of Kelly Holcomb. If you didn't know, Holcomb sustained a hairline fracture in his leg during the 49ers game. I don't think Holcomb would've come out on his own because he didn't want his starting job compromised after fighting 7 years to get one.

I personally was surprised to hear back in training camp that Holcomb ws given the nod over Couch. I know Couch was so called "given his chance" but seriously, these days it usually takes a QB a couple years to come into his own. Being a Steeler fan and seeing Couch twice a year previously, I never really thought he played bad, I just thought he needed more time. Im of the opinion that Butch Davis came in and instead of nurturing Couch's talents, he put too much pressure on him to become a star fast. After being benched Im sure his confidence is rattled but I guess we will see what happens.
