First my stats- 205lbs, 6'2", fairly big build. im 23 years old, been lifting on and off for a few years now. my goal is to drop 5% body fat before march 20th. I like the size i am at, and basically want to drop the love handles and extra pudge.
I heard there is a difference when training as far as cardio and the best fat burning zone, or working otu to hard and skipping the fat burning zone? can someone fill me in on this a little more?
ive also read articles saying lifting is still better then cardio, as cardio youll lose muscle if you dont do it right. so A. what is right? B. how to lift while trying to cut?
my current routine: running every other day for about 30 mins on the street (not treadmill), maybe 5.5-6k.
the days i dont run, i lift, working each muscle group once a week, sometimes twice a week.
my diet: try to keep low starch's, usually meat and veggies, yogurt or fruit for snacks, eggs and sometimes pancakes for breakfast.
