Is there specific times of day (not hours, but bfast, and lunch time etc.) that certain foods should be eaten?

what im trying to get at is, for breakfast should i be eating more protein or carbs , or does it even matter?

also, should i have a lot of carbs pre-workout?

I suggest that ANY time of day would be a good time for you to use the search function on this forum. ;)

LOL...I know, and I thought I was lazy (well, I am but Onyx may have me beat - j/k)

it's really hard 2 b specific unless ya have a specific goal - ie, add some 'beef' 2 your frame (bulk), lose BF (cut), or maintain?

here's the 'quick n dirty' method :D

eat clean & often - say every 3 hours
total cals - depends on your goals & based from your current stats
(eg; add 10-30% 2 TDEE 2 gain, cut 15% or 500 cals off TDEE to lose - but again, these r general guidlines)

pro intake (min.) 1g:1lb TBW (personal pref. 1.5g:1lb LBM)
fat intake (max.) 20-30% of total daily cals - EFA's - 4get sat & trans types

carbo intake should balance out total cal. intake (& that again depends on your goals) however I've found by eating the majority of my carbs @ b/fast (pref. simple/complex carbo mix) & post W/O (pref. simple carbo here) 2 b most effective

great thank you azrail.

lol rubberduckyo , i remember reading about this many times in this forum, but this is the first time im trying to get serious about it lol, so i was too lazy to go looking for it :(

Every Meal of every day is important.

Pre Workout you want to makle sure you get lots of good complex carbs. They will supply you with the energy you need to get through the working. Not enough carbs = half assed workout.

Post workout you will want to eat some type of carbs. I like to eat some simple carbs (quick into the system) and some complex carbs.

The rest of the day, make sure you eat a balanced diet. Carbs, Protein, AND fat are all important.

what do you do if you workout twice a day???? just repeat before and after workout meals??? And on rest days should you eat more, the same, or less?

Why do you feel you need to be training 2x / day??? Not really necessary and for most it will cause more problems then good.

I guess because I feel that I've hit a plateau, and that doing 2 1 hour workouts a day would be better than a 2 hour plus workout....am I wrong in assuming this???

I also thought that it would be better to split up my leg workouts, doing quads one day and hamstrings on the next. The same with Bi's and tri's. I've been having a hard time trying to get my arms/legs to develop more...so I figured that I wasn't training them enough like I do on every other body part.

For example I did 6-7 exercise for shoulders and they blew up in like a month...where as for my arms legs it was more like 5 different exercises.

I mean I know that I'm no where near the level of a pro...but it seems like a lot of people train 2 times a day on a 2 on 1 off routine.....

also shouldn't it be okay to train twice a day as long as you are getting the proper nutrition that you need to grow???

what he said, plus:
before 6pm: pro+carb meals
after 6 pm: pro+fat+veggie meals (unless you workout after 6pm...then its ok to have carbs until 3 hours PWO

I'm having a hard time trying to understand what your doing in the gym for 2+ hours / day -

Your either: Talking way to much - Doing way to many sets/exercises

More isn't better in BB, Without rest and recovery there is no growth. Unless you have the recovery ability of a "pro" which i'm going to say you don't - or you wouldn't be asking these questions, and have the time to do nothing but eat and sleep the rest of the day - You need to schedule things differently.

6 - 7 exercises is a lot of extra work to be doing - You do not grow in the gym, it is the stimulous that causes growth. The marconutrients you injest afterwards is what causes the growth.

so you are saying it's better to do 5 on 2 off...rather then 2 on 1 off??? I know personally that I made better gains going 2 on 1 off...then doing 5 days straight then taking 2 off...
