Diabetic IGF 1 injections...HIGH DOSAGE?

As its name indicates IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor-1), has properties similar to insulin, and it has been shown to improve blood sugar profiles in type 2 diabetics. High doses of HGH have been shown to increase insulin resistance, but IGF-1 administration has actually normalized the insulin resistance in a group of healthy volunteers.
The study found that IGF-1 at 100 micrograms per kilogram of body weight given twice daily enhanced the body's protein metabolism in the same way as human growth hormone did.

That would be like 8700 Micrograms of IGF for a 200lbs person!?? WTF

9090mcg if my math is correct. lol and that twice daily.

Shane, gh increases insulin resistance and IGF-1 increases Insulin sensitivity. Either way you especially gotta be careful.

So if you have normal bllod sugar like 80-100 but have high insulin levels you would benefit from igf-1 to become more insulin sensitive.

I was guesstimate'n lol!

Yea thats what I have been reading. So for me, IGF 1 would be a good thing correct? I mean, I would love to lessin the amount of slin I need and add some muscle! :naughty:

And to the dude below me, in a non diabetic with normal blood sugars and a working pancreas why the hell would they car about insulin sensitivity? obviously theres are fine....?

Because when the pancreas is over producing insulin due to insulin resistance its being over worked and will eventually shut down if left so overtime. Its one way that Diabetes starts. That's why I want to know

in regards to diabetes, i wouldn't utilize IGF-1 simply to help with insulin sensitivity.

Again, you're playing with fire because you guys NEED Slin to survive... this becomes alot more about optimal target ranges than simply doing something to help gain LBM.

Go on....Sounds good to me? I mean, the whole reason a type 1 eat's rite and excersies is in hopes to help insulin sensitivity. While IGF 1 shows to help with this, and possibly lean you out/LBM what would a reason be to not try it? Im not arguing, I am just asking. Seems like a win win situation.

O side note: Do you realize the dosage these people are givin? Its like 2 vials a day? You would think if it helps with LBM at 40mcg according to people here, that at the dosage used in these studies they would have reported something if it was infact true?

I'm not saying don't try it, it would be an interesting experiment, just always be aware of your main priority in regard to being Type 1 (not that you wouldn't. duh! lol). My main concern was that this was done on Type 2 diabetics. Type 2s do actually produce some insulin correct? Again, I'm no expert on diabetes, it just scares me because say you feel great one day and are able to get by with half as much insulin. This goes on for a week, then on the 8th day (not to sound biblical here), you change your diet ever so slightly and the insulin resistance is totally different... but it occurs at night while you sleep and metabolize more/less?

I may be being a bit paranoid, but like I said, one of my great friends is a Type 1 and if there is one thing about him that is consistent... its his body's inconsitency. lol

As for the dosing, I'm still a little hesitant to believe that dosing schedule. But who knows. I would never do that much regardless if i was diabetic or not.

Yup you are correct. Type 2 diabetics make some insulin, Type 1's make NONE. So, like myself I take insulin shots. I dont even care about AAS's andymore lol, the more I read about insulin the more I wanna learn. Its such a crazy hormone and it does so much more than just uptaking sugar/carbs. I really hope being diabetic dosent fuck my bb'ing life up...:redhot:

it won't, you just gotta more mindful of things like carbs and sugar.

One more thing, as anabolic as Slin is, its synergy with AAS is what makes it so amazing. I have tried Slin without AAS as an experiment and what i really got outta it was maintenance during post cycle therapy (pct). Now, thats a great thing in and of itself.

I just don't want you to be chasing rainbows that aren't there brother. This is a great thread btw. Great questions.

Is there a certian thing or "rainbow" you think I am chassing? Lol, Shit at this point I dont even know...

And I figured this thread would get something goin. Insulin is so underestimated and conffused among most it seems.

thats because you have people that say "do insulin and risk death" and others who say "Im gonna do SLin and get huggggge".

Its retards with close minds who don't know how to debate an issue who leave shit like that.

As for the rainbows, I didn't know if maybe you were thinking just manipulating your Slin dosage to maximize nutrient uptake would be an efficient way to grow. Not saying you wouldn't get some benefit outta it, but again, gotta be watchful of what you are doing.

All this is not meant to be condescending Shane, just throwing thoughts at ya. We never got into full experimentation cause I was too worried about killing my buddy. lol Damn, now i sound like those other guys. :D
