Hey guys so i crashed my dirtbike last may and landed on my sohulder, and turns out it was dislocated or as the specialist said i pushed part of the bone down so when i move my arm the plates are pushing on eachother.... he said theres nothin i can do but give it time but its been almost a year>>> like this is rediculous

Ive been to my family DR and he hasnt helped me at all... it only hurts when i do bench press i can do everything else pretty much and it hurs when i sleep on it..

Any opinions like the Specialist said to take it easy because when i use it it gets inflamed but its been a year so im very inpatient now. should i start doing light weight for chest or?

I crashed my yz250 (smashed my lateral/front delt on rocks a few years ago. Nothing showed up in the x-ray, but it fucked with all my pressing movements for
almost a year. Mine was not dislocated though. I would at least hear the specialist out, see what he/she has to say.
Shoulder injurys take more time to heal.
The iron will still be waiting.

Get an MRI stop doing any thing that uses the shoulder an get it fixed and healed. If you don't let it heal it's just not going to be right. I have suffered form an injury for 15 year post having reconstruction surgery. Life is to short. I could have been playing hockey for the last 12 years.

X2...

I made the mistake of trying to work through some shoulder pain and it lingered for over a year. It didnt get better until I stopped all shoulder exercises for 3 months. Including incline benches. I think it would have gotten better much faster if i stopped all benching but it didnt hurt me when doing flat or decline benches so i continued doing them. In hindsight i would stop all pushing and pulling motion.

Acromioclavicular joint separation is classically due to direct blow to the shoulder or fall on an extended arm.
All to often a person is non-compliant with appropriate rehab, and condition becomes cronic, leading to permanent degenerative changes and dysfunction.

I am going through something similar of a shoulder injury.
That is a part of the chapter I am reviewing in my studys.
Take the advice on this the shoulder joint is the #1 sports injury-give it time let it heal and then strengthen the surrounding muscles with exercise and light weight.

thx for the opinions guys, Why couldnt you have just said ya keep working out and it will magically heal itself? (thats the answer i was looking for) lol but no good to hear im not the only one with it takes like a year to heal.... but i think what he said is that i pushed my AC joint downards so now when i do pressing motions it rubs on my rotator cuff? i think its something like that.
