Yeah, it always sucks at first - but I'm sure you'll adjust in no time at all.I had a shitty workout tonight. Started at a new gym, I guess I had performance anxiety. I dont know why, everybody was working out with 40 lbs and shit. Had to hunt for weights. I hate it already
LOL, yessss. Some of the old school supplements DO work, but some are just silly haha.haha i remember taking liver pills back in the day.
Dude, there's this new fad at my gym: These older guys (early 50's) now pick up a 45lb plate and walk around the perimeter of the gym non-stop. I don't know what jackass put them on this quest to look like a tard, but I get kind of twitchy when I have to hunt for 45's to do shrugs.I hate having to search around for weights. Especially if I have to haul 'em clear to the other side of the damn gym. Like why is there no 45's in the leg room? OHHHH cause it's international "how much can you half rep bench, brah?" day... how could I forget?
That's exactly why I joined a gym. I used to have a decent set, but if you really want to grow - you have to seriously invest in the proper equipment; which costs THOUSANDS of dollars. Maybe once I get out of school I'll think about it again, but on the other hand - I'd miss spandex and yoga pants.I have been working out at home the past two years and loving it. No waiting for benches or the one squat rack. It was either spend $200+ on weights and brace the floor or go back to the gym. I got a free month at this place, Im not sure what Im going to do. I really dont want to fall through the floor
Welcome to the new age of fitness clubs man. Planet Fitness actually tends to be better than most - which is sad as fuck since they stereotype body builders in a very negative light. There's a new LA Fitness by me that just opened, and they don't have shit for free weights either. I miss the days of the real gyms, where it was benches/squat racks/ONE leg press machine/up to 150lbs for db's/and BUMPER PLATES.Dear lord... planet fitness?!

i'd miss them too but my work schedule means lifting at odd times and no hotties for hybrid![]()
Hahaha. Yes! I don't understand why someone would pay to go to a gym only to walk around like that? At a commercial gym I can kind of see so you can scope out the broads, but at a real gym? WTF?HAHAHA that reminds me of this creepy old dude that used to go to my gym. He would ride his bike, mind you a mountain bike, in his spandex biker shorts and top. Then he would literally just walk back and forth in the upstairs hallway from one end to the other for like an hour with his water bottle. He wore gloves too... it was really weird.
I had a Gold's by me that shut down and the folks that bought it out sold off the good equipment so they could put in more treadmills and ellipticals. Talk about blasphemy. I'm glad fitness is making a come back as it did in the early 90's, but it sucks that it's FAR more profitable to have a "gym" that provides free pizza and bagels instead of having good equipment.I've heard LA Fitness is actually worse than planet fitness. I'm glad I go to a real gym. Two sets of DB's to 120, a couple sets of bumper plates, oly room with a DL mat, a SHIT TON of 45 lb plates, they even provide chalk. It's very hard for me to leave. Sure the scenery might be better at commercial gyms... but the first time I get bitched at for deadlifting I'm gonna chuck a plate at someone's face. Plus I only pay like $25/month, compared to $50+ for the other gyms.
Ouch.
Let's see here:
6am-8am: Hottie that works the front desk as well as this new TALL broad that is built like a Sherman Tank. Very fun to flirt with.
9am-11am: There's this Michelle Rodriguez look a like as well as this trio of slightly older gals that are all obviously trophy wives. They're fun to flirt with, but I feel like it's seriously flirting with disaster.
12am-2pm: My blonde is usually there around that time now. I have to avoid her as I know an affair is totally possible there, and while I'm faithful - that's some serious pressure.
2pm-5pm: Ahhh, how I miss this time frame. The University cheerleaders come in at this time frame in groups of 4-8 and ALWAYS tend to hit the squat racks and do lunges in spannnndexxxxx. Sooooooo miss that time slot.
6pm-8pm: Probably the only person that goes to my gym that intimidates me works out at this time. I'm about 99% sure she competes physique and looks like Kristanna Loken (of Terminator 3 fame). She's crazy dedicated and is ALWAYS wearing some sweat soaked hoodie. Yes, I'd give my left nut to have her for a night.
9pm-1am: It's been awhile since I've gone at this time, but there was this group of younger kids that looked like they all worked together possibly at Hooters. They spent most of their time doing pullups and other calisthenics, but were definitely fun to watch.
2am-5am: Pretty much dead. If there was anyone there at that time, it was usually a doctor or nurse and not much else to gawk at in between sets. Then again, if I found myself in the gym at that time - I was more tired than anything.
I go to the gym to improve myself, but after reading this - I have decided I am indeed a dirty old man. LOL

you're fuckin killing me
and your pinn lab review is making me think about sampling some different labs to boot.
Man there is a great gym, excuse me, a fucking health superplex, across town. Its affordable too, but the way traffic is I wouldnt have any time for my family. Unless I could get a sponsor brrrrrrrro
Ouch.

D'oh! You know who used to have the best of both worlds? I shit you not, but Bally's was AMAZING back in the day. They had a MASSIVE free weight selection, a pool, track, spa, sauna, cardio floor full of sweaty babes, and even (well mine did) a martial arts dojo. I wonder if they're still in business...
I think we'd all love to be sponsored.![]()
It's some offshoot of 24 hour fitness. Not a FANTASTIC gym by any means, but I still have a good 6 months to a year before I completely outgrow their equipment and have to find a new home. At least they have free tanning.Where do you work out man, curves for women? It sounds awesome there
Boxing would be pretty sweet too. Only one more year before I put my daughter in kung fu as I've been DYING to get back into martial arts. I just hope I'm still flexible enough LOL.This gym is like that, no dojo but a boxing ring with trainers. They put so much money into this place its unreal
Yeah, it kind of shows that I'm still full of androgens based on how I remember different times at the gym haha.
Man, if I had the money - I'd probably sample just about every lab on here haha. I miss JM750 as he used to do just that and would give me a thumbs up or thumbs down. I'm still dying to try AML's tren base. That has to be insane to get a quick PUMP of tren into you right before you hit the iron!![]()
I have a feeling it had to do with him being a member of another board, which may have been felt as a conflict of interest here. I don't know much more than that, but I do know he was a valuable member here and good all around guy.yeah JM was good shit. things got really busy for me at work and i took a break from here only to return and see he was gone. you know what happened to him?
Well, there's risk no matter what we do to be honest. Your buddy could be busted just as easily as an online source, which could potentially lead to you. I'm not saying it's safe, but I don't think it's necessarily any more risky than doing it on the street. That and online is usually quite a bit cheaper.my concern isn't money but risk. i get my gear through a friend of twenty years and don't know the first thing about buying "online". the problem is my source doesn't have the selection of some labs and will eventually force me to go elsewhere.

so you mean i could buy even more gear? haha well you drive a hard bargin there. it would probably motivate me to do some reviews too.
