yo guys! I was wondering what I could do to strengthen my triceps more. Honestly, I have never ever done board presses. I heard that it strengthen the triceps. :) Ummm...how do you do board-presses??? I also need help with that..:)
thank you very much

board presses strengthen the tris in regards to increasing your bench press. More around the elbow area. What are your goals?

oh and I just saw the vid...bouncy tummy..>:)
so, board presses are done with shoulder-width grip?
and does stacking more boards makes it even harder to press?
Sorry if I keep asking...really want to learn
Thank you!!!

umm..if you're asking for goals...what does that mean? I'm really sorry..kinda ignorant on those...T_T

If you want to increase your shirted bench, they are great, if you are looking to increase your tri size, i would probably do somethign else.

ah..well, I'm actually looking forward to increase my bench numbers.
and now that you mention about tri size...I wouldn't mind being helped there too..:)
thank you!

boards can be used for raw benching as well
you just dont need to drop the bar as low

Sure, but most people don't have those weak points. They have problems in the beginning.

true but the only way to really help that is to use a cambered bar so that you can get below your sticking point..and how many gyms have that? :)

if i were a raw bencher i would have a heavy raw day and then maybe another one for mid to upper end and accessory but this doesnt have to be as stressful as the raw day

The upper end work is the reason why so many people get weaker raw benches from westside. I would just do raw benches, paused benches, low pin presss, and inclines and declines. I would also do paused speed benches. I would not do boards or lockouts until it became an issue.

you should start where you have your sticking point..
most likely this is the lower end for raw benchers

You should start below your sticking point.

you eliminate "sticking points" by using machines (the good one's like Nautilus anyhow).

Where in gods name did you get this from. How does a nautilus machine work a sticking point in my bench.

any exercise that provides consistent resistance throughout the entire tri-cep range of motion is a good one.

yead id like to hear more on this as well :insane2:

well let me be the different one here. :D again

my bottom end back in the raw days was the stronger of the parts. lockout is where i was weakest. so.... boards helped my raw bench.
