Donated Blood yesterday....
Last one was 3 months earlier to the day!
Hemo going in this test was 146 G/L and HCT 43 %....
On TRT, and noticed that my Ferritin in Nov's lab was 42 ug/L
31-79 ug/l is marked as "reduced iron stores" according to my lab,
80-300 ug/l is marked as "normal Iron stores".

I'm thinking of taking a small iron supplement, like iron bysglicinate with meals...is this ok ?
My hemo is not out of control. 10 months on TRT at 180 mg/week took my hemo to 165 G/L and 48% HCT once....
never donated all that time. I might not need frequent blood donation.

I worked out before yesterday's blood donation and had breakfast before obviously....
4.5 hours later did the blood donation. I did eat some granola bars after workout for glucose...
I noticed my heart beating faster during blood donation and a little weak toward the end...
not fainting or anything, but I think my blood glucose dropped.
I notice if I don't eat protein, and well while on TRT blood glucose does not stay stable.
I could go 8-9 hours without eating prior to TRT....
any input from anyone on this?

That is a good number, I am at 50% and donate every 56 days and my doctor is pleased with me being at 50% or lower.

You talking bout HCT right ?
how old r u again bro ?
I read that Hemo rising gets worse with advancing age....
Almost all guys in their 50's and on are having trouble with rising Hemo while on TRT...
How's your Ferritin though with all those frequent donations ?

I am 42 and have only donated 3 times, my Hemo was at 50% before my third donation so I am sure it is a little lower today than it was a week ago when I donated. I know when I went in to donate the first time it was just under 52%. I have no clue on what my ferritin is at, I honestly don't even know what that is.

you still on the 160 mg/week ?
how long have you been on TRT ?
Your HCT really responds eh ?
My baseline for HCT now is always 43 % for pre donation.....
Before ever donating I would be a constant 45 %

Yeah, I found a new doctor but he doesn't have any openings for new patients until March. I donate blood to be proactive, I was not really high, donating every 56 days allows me to maintain my HCT.

50 % HCT is pretty high bro....
how long you been on TRT now ?

About six months, my HCT was on the higher end before I ever started TRT, my doctor says that being a smoker for 25 years is the reason. I have since quit smoking so I don't have that to worry about anymore.

I thought so...
My baseline for HCT was 45.5 % pre TRT when I first went on.....
Never donated in my life at that time. After 11 months of TRT 160 mg/week it climbed to 48%
not bad.
Hope I stay like this for the majority of my life.
