TOTALLY agree. I used to KILL Myself avoiding carbs all together to avoid any slin spikes (I'm moderately slin resistant).

Now, when I eat carbs, I try my best to stick to very low glycemic index carbs alongside r-ala and I rarely notice any of the ill-effects of carbs I was used to (dreaded lethargy, instant BLOAT to name a few).

SURE beats the HELL Out of avoiding carbs all together

I should add that it is NICE to NOT feel "flat" all the time from the avoidance of carbs. It's nice to have a lil muscle fullness again.......almost forgot what I was missing out on :D

Relying exclusively upon EITHER carbs or fats as energy source requires a huge shift in energy metabolism, which is made possible by altering production of many different enzymes and hormones. I think this might be why those who begin an Atkins-style diet feel so bad at first, as the bioactive substances re0equilibrate themselves.

Requiring the body to do this several times per day is, IMPO, not a good idea.
