Excellent article - "The war on steroids has no juice"

great article... in a magazine a while back there was an article about prisons and jailing in america. It related how prisons are privately owned, and then the government leases them. Also mentioned that jailing in america is the 2nd largest industry, since it involved various other industries... (just the supplies and resources needed to run the jail, from the washing, to the transportation of materials to the jail, to the electric costs, to prison guards, to the money they get for each prisoner.... ) I can't remember all the details of the article, and what i stated probably doesn't even really scratch the surface of the things mentioned, as I can't remember the specifics, but the main idea is that jailiing isn't just a government runned industry...it's dominated by the private sector.
