Family Doc not much help. What are your thoughts?

I went to my doctor and explained symptoms I've experienced for the last few years. I told her testosterone never crossed my mind until talking to a couple friends of mine who had similar issues and are now on TRT. I asked her to test my testosterone levels and she tested for only Testosterone.

Total, LC/MS/MS which came in at 377 ng/dL Range 250-1100.

After doing some research on this forum, I feel as if she tested for one piece of the puzzle which is only part of the story. Isn't there other tests that are grouped with a testosterone test?

What other tests should have been taken to evaluate if I have low T or a hormonal imbalance?

It is common practice to only look at TT first. If that comes up low then you generally run more blood work to see what is going on. Read the Basic TRT Overview sticky thread. It will walk you through what else to look at and other possible causes of your symptoms that should likewise be investigated like Sleep Apnea. Give it a read and then come back to this thread and ask any questions you have.

Not horribly low. A lot of guys on here have been lower than you. But def. Not super great.
You need to test: prolactin, SHBG, esteadiol, LH, FSH, albumin. You could calculate your bio available T by knowing TT, SHBG, Albumin.

I use my general practitioner. Find a doc you have a good working relationship with.

GP here to. All through insurance.

Although I did have to go see a endocrinologist after inquiring about arimidex and hcg to my GP. haha

That went about the same as what everyone on here always says about endo's....They don't give a shit about your symptoms, just want you to fit in a box of numbers.

Very important. A doctor should be willing to help you, not work against you. Thankfully I have found a doctor that is more than happy to be on my side and work with me, I wish you the best in finding one.
