Guys.....

Can low Test levels cause anxiety? I have had my Test levels checked and I am very low. I am 38 and suffer from anxiety/social phobia/agoraphobia. I have taken almost every anti-depressant over the past 5 years as well as Valium and Klonopin but still no joy, still anxious. So when I had my testosterone levels checked and they found out they were low has made me think......Could this be the cause of my anxiety/phobias, feeling low, always tired, very low sex drive etc?

Any help would be great.

Anyone suffered like me and found testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) helped them?

Yes. I have had anxiety for 10 years. I suffered through it for 5 years before trying Lexapro. That made me suicidal within a week of taking it. So SSRIs are not for me. Then I started taking xanax 2 or 3 times a day. This stuff works like a charm for me and I have used it for the past 3 years whenever I need it. Since going on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) I only use the xanax once a day at most and I think eventually I won't need it at all.

I will venture to say that a lot of anxiety issues are caused by hormonal imbalances. In my case, anxiety was a side effect from Low T, adrenal fatigue, and being hypothyroid. Once I started fixing my hormones, the anxiety has left. That is why I am so hesitant to be on any anxiety meds. Also, diet has had a factor in helping with my anxiety. I know that too many sweets causes me bad anxiety. There is a number of things to look into in regards to this.

Celexa

I have been on Celexa for several years for general anxiety disorder. I just started testosterone gel a few days ago to bring my levels up. I didn't realize there might be a link between low t and anxiety. I can't wait to see if I can get off my other medication.

I've been suffering from anxiety for quite some time. My chronic stress/fatigue has improved I'm more calm, still would like to feel better. After the age of 16 I noticed a change in my behavior and it was like a domino effect.. Anxiety, depression, then fatigue ect.
