So I go to take my shot today. I start with a fresh needle, get prepped, grab my left leg and start to push. Goes in like butter till suddenly WHAM! i hit a nerve. OUUUU!!! Pull out and rub it. on to the next leg. start to push......WHAM!!!!!! another nerve!! God Almighty that hurts. At this point i gotta get it in. get up head to bathroom pull out a cheek, and now my needle is three plunges old, so guess what no longer goes in like butter. Feels like Im getting stung by a bee but it finally pops in. whew. Aspirate, push, almost there, then the angle i notice i have tilted to the right adjust needle aver so...WHAM!!!! nerve in the ass nerve in the ass!!! cant stop now! done, pull out, bleed like a stuck pig. Now my ass feels like I was tazered, legs feel like I was rubberband snapped then knuckle punched. All in one sitting.

I dont think you really know what your doing!

Well... he definitely shouldve changed his pin after every failed jab.

You never drag a needle while its inserted to adjust the direction...You either go with it and inject or take the pin out, switch needles and try another site.

You may also be injecting in the wrong spot on your quad. Are you pinning high to the outside? I never hit nerves high to the outside of the quad.

LOL. Yeah, FF Medic, I know enough. I have studied the shit out of this and 100 out of 110 diabetics said they will reuse a needle three times before dumping. Unless they have the gobs of money to replace a needle after every shot. There is a risk yes, but none that I spoke to, and read about, ever had issues doing three and out. After speaking to a friend who is an LNP, she said that my quad is not large enough yet to be pinning 1 1/2" She believes at that depth I am passing from internal muscle to back side muscle and hitting nerves on the backside normally protected by muscle. As I have been slovenly for so many years from low T, she thinks I will take some time to get the size that 1 1/2" will be central muscle tissue. Not a lot of fat tissue but equally little muscle size. As for the rear, Ive only done three there yet so i am not yet very good at holding angle and aspirating and plunging yet so :thefinger haha

Side note, I took one at half depth of the needle and never felt it. A little sore the next day, but nothing to cry over. I think my friend was right.
