I have a question for you vets here, and guys that have been around for a while. I remember back in the day, the big talk in regards to nutrition was to "maintain a positive nitrogen balance". This was a key element to building muscle, that you needed protein and essential amino acids so that your body could stay in a positive nitrogen balance. Why is it that we don't hear about that anymore. I remember supplement companies using that phrase, magazines using the phrase. Did we come up with better science or did we just grow out of it, like Twin Labs creatine monohydrate? Just had me wondering.

Good question. This was considered the most important thing at one time. I would think it still applies today but you are right, I haven't really heard this in a while.

I had an instructor in SOI over 10 years ago and I remember him always saying that and that we need to eat MORE protein. That fucker was big too, wore a knee brace that squeaked when he walked. We thought he was robocop. Lol

I guess it was just replaced with saying 1.5-2 grams of protein per lb of bodyweight. That'll definately put you in a positive nitrogen balance.

the sport constantly evolves . were smarter than the guys who taught us and hopefully the next generation will be even smarter , if not ive wasted a lot of time on these boards.

it seems like this whole generation is afraid to eat and i can guarantee ive never had that problem lol.

I still see it Mentioned here and there! I believe it is fundimental still. Just not talked about much. I always tel the boys 1.5 yo 2.0 grams protiem per lb LBM. I guess I just took for granted everyone knew!

I blame the concept of the lean bulk for this DADAWG!

Sure I think you can lean bulk, when on a healthy dose of HGH or tren ;)

otherwise.......
