I kept a bunch of score tabs that use to come with a certain GH kit. I use that to score the amp and still use an amp opener,,,never had an issue. Even if there is glass at the button on the amp, still none comes up when drawing and I use a 22 gauge to draw with
im telling you , i can use that triangle file tio score the neck of 100 amps and using a wash rag to cover / hold the amp with pop every top off with my thumb .
do this^^
Let's just put it this way, if DAWG got paid 1 penny for every good advise he gives, he would've had enough money to afford a full body lasic hair removal.. lol
Damn that was a fast response. So you mean close to the top of the amp right? Mine has a line around it, is this where I am supposed to score it? I tried that before with a triangle file but I still broke it. I must be stupid or something lol.

in all the amps ive used there was 1 section near the top that was norrower than the rest , thats where i scored it. i score it al the way around and hold it with a wash rag wrapped around it by the bottom / base in and i brace the other hand against that hand and use that thumb to pop the top off.
i havent looked but theres prabablly a youtube video of it.
*Update..since I know you all care so much about my life. I was able to get a hang of this thing. Thank you all for the tips and words of wisdom. I ended up scoring them with the amp opener on the narrow part of the neck and popping the top off with the empty alcohol pad wrapper. Worked like a charm. I just spent a long time emptying all amps and putting in sterile vials. Every break was clean. So I took pieces of many of your advice given and found an effective method. Not sure if I will go for amps again though. Its a lot of work. We'll see how the gear is compared to UGL. I'm pumped for this cycle. Just started on westside barbell again and ready to rock.
