gaining while cutting

hey guys,

ive been training for about 8 months now. since then i havent really noticed much gains in my bench press. Ive been told my lack of progress is due to the fact that i do alot of cardio. About 2 years ago i was 20 kilos over weight and through strict diet and excercise, i lost all that. i dont ever want to be over weight again so i do cardio 6 days a week and ive been told im burning too much muscle in the process. is this true? should i cut back on the cardio? will glutamine help? Is it possible too put on muscle while losing fat?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

similar problem here as well. Am quite active as well (swimming, gymnastics) and also blessed with a fast metabolism. So I'm having some trouble putting on weight. Gaining while cutting is possible but gains come slooooooooooow. Too slow for most peoples ' expectations I guess. Just watch your died to be clean. Basically avoid sugar in all refined forms (white sugar, juices, white flour). Milks sugar is ok in moderation as well as a few pieces of fruit for necessary vitamins. Keep your protein intake high and also start cooking with olive or flax seed oils and you'll be set for some (mostly) lean gains (one or two beers or drinks on the weekends are fine as well for the soul!).

Glutamine is about the only supp. I take but that's because I tend to overtrains easily and with glutamine I sleep deeper and feel more rested the next morning (however some people say that's just some placebo effect but find out for yourself because everybody is different)

Concerning training....one of the best things I've done recently is to work out chest, shoulders and tris in one workout just once a week. I'm gaining better than before when having shoulders being trained on another day and my bench is progressing every workout. Just make sure you go to failure on the last one or the last two sets of an exercise and once a week will be plenty of work. Gains come slowly but hey bb is a yearlong passion and not just a "have to get big tits and bicepses by the beginning of the summer season" task ;)

Hope that helped a bit,

Greetings
