Getting Lab work done - quick question

Ok, so have been on TRT for 3 weeks and getting first lab test done. Going to Private, and doing the Female hormone group. Question is, do I need to fast for this test?? Also, since this is not the E2 sensitive, how do I adjust the E2 result to know where I really am on that scale?

Since it tests glucose, you should be fasted. Usual instructions also include no ejaculation 24hrs prior. Morning is best for accurate T levels, but once you are suppressed I suspect that no longer matters much. However, it's easiest to be fasted in the morning anyway.

I don't think there's any foolproof conversion from sensitive E to regular assay... I've seen estimates of difference of 20, but I doubt this is linear.
The best approach might be to stick with the same test and use it to compare trends over time, relating the results to how you are doing.

X2. Or just pay extra for the sensitive assay and get both done.

Thanks for the answers. Since I am on a Friday morning / Monday night 3.5 day split, I wanted to get this one done before my shot tonight as it would be in the trough. I will make sure any additional draws are done in morning on Monday to make sure T is at lowest. Didn't eat very much today so glucose should be pretty low.

Wanted to get the work done before going to dr to get blood work done so I had a heads up prior to getting his result. I get the feeling that it is always better to know what your results are so you can help "guide" your treatment. Otherwise it seems some dr can tell you the blood work, prescript the treatment and have you on your merry way before you even know what has happen.

I just show my private blood work to my doc. I told him how much cheaper it is. I don't get blood work done through the clinic anymore. Tell you doc you don't want to duplicate blood work that has just been done to help keep your costs down.

Sounds like a good idea, I think I will take that approach but maybe wait just a bit. I have only seen this Dr a couple of times and while I think he is very onboard with TRT and what is involved, I don't want to make him think I am trying to develop my own treatment plan.
