horned, yeah, my manual says that too but i think its wrong. For a month i had a trainner friend do a 9pt on me like every other day and my tanita followed that dead on when i read in the morning but it was MUCH lower at night.
example:
tanita - morning - 8.5%
9pt - 3 pm - 8.5%
tanita - night - 5%
the night time tanita was much closer to a 3pt test...
also you need to make sure that they all have a athlete or compariable mode or your bf will be much higher.
my thinking on this is that your body has had much more time to equalize to the same state over night...more so then any other time durring the day.
I get up, pee and take a reading every sat morning. mine has a db9 connection to a computer and software to track the results. it tracks date, time, weight, impedance, lbm, body water weight, bf weight, bf percentage and a few other things...and it tracks it for many users.
and you should never do an electroimpedance one after working out..it will stop your heart...hehe just kidding, it could just be really inaccurate.
and yes i agree with them not being super accurate and much better for tracking changes...and for that matter i would also have to say that i dont think calipers are any better and maybe worse depending on who's driving and how hard they pinch.
hydrostatic is the most accurate.
