Got my Test levels checked, could you take a look?

I got my test levels checked out of curiosity and below are pics of my results.

Now this is all going a bit over my head because the doc diddnt explain and is unavailable to explain them to me at the moment.

But it says the range is from 10.3 - 34.5, and that my result was 9.3. If that is the case am i right in sayng i am at the low end of the scale? Surely the closer to 34.5 the better?

If any one has any insight on the results i would appreciate some help.

Also i am a 23 year old male, workout 5 times a week, 205lbs. Would have thought this would mean higher levels.

Symptoms of low test experianced are:

Lack of motivation/ability to apply myself mentally to a task.

Developed excess abdominal fat (gut)

Trouble in the sack if you get what i mean...

Lethargic also!

you are on the low end, Contact Maximus Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), Chip on here can get you sorted out

Thanks for the reply mate, im unsure what you mean by get me sorted out, excuse my ignorance, but surely my doc can prescribe me some thing if i need it no?

depends your doctor may refer you to an Endo, Chip specializes in HRT. they may be other factors contributing to you being on the low side, discus it with your doctor. Chip will work with you to help get you sorted out (Levels to were they should be) and is very responsive and knowledgeable.

apologies i just saw your location, not sure Maximus services Ireland, think he is US only. Your doc will send you to an Endo,

Total Testosterone, LH and FSH are all low, have you had any testicle damage? like Undescended testicle operation, cancer? if not I would say its Hypogonadtropic Hypogonadism.

I would force your doctor to understand the issue, take as much information to him as possible regarding levels by age which for you and myself is upper limit not lower. Try to talk open and honest about all of your symptoms - try to emphasise the sexual symptoms - if you dont having morning or night time errections that is a very big give away that T is low so make sure to mention that.

The options are for him to send you to a endo or he could start treatment himself, usually the first line is transdermal gels, after agreeing with he will most likely offer Testogel or Testim to be rubbed on your upper body 1 x daily, but from my own experience and reading that of others these wont elevate levels all that fast, possibly taking 3 months of use to even get to a 60 year old level and some people have absorbtion issues too.

I myself am starting Nebido injections which is a long acting form not yet approved for use in USA from what I understand but it is approved here in the UK.

There are many other choices for treatment however injections are favoured by many.

I would also ask for further blood tests before starting any treatment to get base levels.

Prolactin
TSH
Hemoglobin
PSA
E2 ( looking for low side of that around 22-30s)

From my experience doctors in the uk are assholes so you will have to force/argue or go to another doctor on occasions, they also dont have a great understanding of male hormonal levels after being educated back in the dinosaur age.

best of luck

Wow great post mate.

Yeah now that you mention it i had an operation when i was a kid for a testical that didnt drop. Im assuming that can contribute?

I am due to speak to my GP today on the issue and i am going to request to be referred to a specialist. I was prescribed the gel before (maybe 4 years ago) by a urologist for slightly low levels but it diddnt do much for me and it burned my skin. I stopped taking it and regret it now hence the blood work i got done.

Is it possible to boost your levels and then "kick start" your natural production or is it a permanent treatment that i will have to perform if i have to go down that route?

Cheers

Wouldnt you know it! I had the damn op too back in 1982ish, and yes it causes the problem especially if the one that had the op didnt develop like the other side, im guessing you have that problem?

The good testicle wont create enough for your body like mine and the other that had the op wont do anything so it may as well be a nice plastic one.

I wonder just how many like us had this condition and their doctors didnt pick up on the cause and effect problems in the future amazing really.

btw if you want extra reseach to take for proof google Primary Hypogonadism and check out Cryptorchidism (undescended) as a cause.

At that level Its not possible to raise it enough naturally in my opinion, I was at 8.1, 8.4 then after 2 years of dieting and working out hard at the gym I was at 10.2, Testogel took me to 18.2 which still isnt where I want to be so im getting my 1st shot of Nebido 2moro.

Nebido shots interested me because its a long ester, 1000mg lasting 10-14 weeks depending on your body meaning yeah its permanent injections but far less frequent than Testosterone Enanthate and its had good feedback also.

I dont know if one diddnt develop like the other to be honest, i have never had it diagnosed any way!

Do you have to go to the doc each time for an injection? Is there no way of administering the drug yourself? The Nebido does sound good though....

Also on a side note, how were your muscle mass gains in the gym before TRT? I am finding it near impossible to gain muscle, did you experiance this and does this change with TRT?

Thanks again

Its my 1st injection 2moro after being on the gels, so the nurse is doing that, but as for future injections im not sure yet, I know if its Enanthate or Cyp they teach you to self inject because thats every 1-2 weeks.

Muscle gains for me have been very hard but I have made some gains in the last 12 months, for my body type though which is an endomorph I should be doing far far better than I am. On the gels I did notice I was able to increase reps each time I did DB Bicep Curls or infact I changed weight on the DB twice inside 1 month.

Research on studies says men on average gained 4.4 lbs in muscle mass after 6 months of T Therapy without gym work...if thats true or not I dunno.

Im the same though im hoping getting to a decent level of testosterone will enhance my gym work and help me make some real gains.

Great stuff, well best of luck with the first injection tomorrow, and let me know how you get on if you dont mind?

I am expecting a call from the doc tonight so i will update here with what he says.

Yeah sure thing, I do have a thread some place which I update every so often too.

Just had my 1st shot of Nebido about 2 hours ago, nurse seemed to do it pretty fast - around 1 min maybe and I didnt really feel much pain other than a kinda dead ass cheek now lol

So ill see how it goes its meant to take several days before peak levels are reached, and I gotta go chat in person to my doc really to see when my next shot will be and when he will check serum levels.

Hi again guys,

I just thought i would post up these results also for you guys to have a look at, if you wouldnt mind of course, is there any thing here i should be aware of as i do not really know what i am looking at? I dont know how to interpret them or what each is!!

Not gonna pretend to understand all that but Iron (ferritin) could be higher I guess, everything else looked ok for what I can tell.

Maybe take a multivit? or something with iron in it, possibly zinc too which helps with T levels if you have any deficency there.

Personally I take:

Fish Oil - 2-3 daily
Multibionta - daily
ZMA - 3 at nite

Well I am just back from the doc and he prescribed me with 100mg test e weekly, but this was on my recommendation as he didn't know of test e and wanted to prescribe gel. I told him I did not want this.

He did not know what dosage of hcg to prescribe so said he would look into it and prescribe it to me in a month, at my next visit. He also felt unsure about an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) and said he would look into this too.

Basically he wants me injecting the 100mg weekly and get a test done in 3 weeks to see how I am doing. Would this be ok in your opinion or should I wait for the hcg and AI?

have you thought about getting your nutrition sorted out by a nutritionist?

No i have not to be honest mate, I have my diet pretty much dialled in and it has been for a long time. Also i couldnt afford the extra expense i was recently made redundant unfortunatly.
