Half rep benchpress question..

Ok here is the question.. i see alot of the bigger guys doing half reps, so my question is should i switch to half reps to target more on the chest as i feel the last half is more working the tricep and of course the proper technique not the ego technique...

opinions would be greatly appreciated
 
Are they using boards? Or pushing off the pins? Half reps are pointless imo if you are NOT a powerlifter.
 
If you're just ater chest size, stick to full reps. Lightly touch (don't bounce) the bar to your chest and explode up to just short of lockout. It is true that the tophalf of the bench is mostly triceps, but a full or nearly full ROM is needed to ensure the entire pec complex is hit.
