Haven't deadlifted in a while

due to an injury, but today I gave'er a go.

I got 405x8, then 455x3
I think I could have gotten atleast 10 on the first set and maybe 4-5 on the 2nd set but my grip was failing me big time. Basically the straps were the only thing holding onto the bar on the last rep.... For safety reason I called it quits.

Oh well... Next time will be better.

Next time I want to try a thinner bar, I should be able to hold on to it a little better.

Dont u use a standard OL-bar ?
I did them yesterday, but i for some stupid reason stayed in the "up" position for like 7seconds and then when going for one last rep i couldnt do it.

The bar I used seemed thicker than some of the older bars I used to use.

I don't have huge hands, so a thinner bar would be better for me.

The thinner bars kick ass. Deadlifting with a thick bench bar is horrible.

I like thin bars bc they bend and make me feel like a big man. Other than that I have an uncanny grip for a guy with puny forearms, so no problems with a big bar.

if you using the straps correctly you should not have a prob with grip giving out. in fact i dont even squeeze the bar when i use straps.

congrats on some nice #s btw. :D

Well, I just got some new straps from ProWristStraps.com, so maybe I just need to break them in a bit more.

In all honesty, I really did want to drop the weight.. That gym was packed and I don't think they would enjoy 400+lbs crashing on the floor.

I expect these numbers to be a lot higher in a couple weeks once I get back in the groove.

Nice lifting, deads are the one exercise that you can time off on and not feel like a complete pussy when you get back to them. And yes those straps will need some breaking in.

NIce numbers easto, good job bro. I take it your doing good on the recover form your injury.
