hcg dose to preserve fertility on trt

I've been on trt for 8 weeks now. I'm going to start hcg@ 500iu eod to get testes jump started and then bring it down to 250iu 2x week. Is this enough to preserve fertility or is 500iu 2x week better. I have read so many different things

250iu twice a week would be better. I don't think you need to front load. What did your doc recommend?

My doctor wouldn't prescribe me it. He said there is no proof that it works. So I went and got it on my own. Should I take it fir 4 weeks it do and then get a semen analysis.

I would just have sex (in a monogamist relationship) without condoms and see if you get her pregnant. Seems like more fun and cheaper.

Yeah I mean if you have a kid and don't plan on it for a while, I don't understand the mentality to maintain fertility, if anything that is a negative thing. Most guys with HCG or Clomid pretty easily pick it back up. I was on T for two years did HCG for for 3 months prior to wife coming off pill, she got pregnant first week, and then I went off it.

So if your looking at from just a fertility perspective Im not sure its worth the hassle and cost. Now if your looking for the other added benefits, which isn't really gospel then maybe..

But if you do want it I took 250IUS eod. Taking HCG also invites high estrogen among other things.

I'm planning to have another in a year or so. Just wanted to help maintain fertility while on just in case also would like the added benefits because even on trti still don't have much libido. I was thinking just a low dose like 250iu 2x a week. I figured this would keep the boys in check since they have shrank a lot and wouldn't spike estrogen to high at this dose.

500iu per week will most likely increase estradiol. Not sure it will help with libido unless your estradiol is low.

I'm aware that estrogen may rise. I do have an AI on hand. Plans to do.25mg to.50mg 2x a week

fair enough. Whatever works for you. I know at the dose I started the Uro told me max time for it take effect was like 3 months. Just be careful, lots of guys if you watch in here self medicate and are constantly throwing different items in the mix, and there always chasing an issue

I would do the SA off the HCG first so you know what you are working with. But at 8 weeks....you way too early to worry. Still a good idea to use HCG though.

You might very well need a higher dose than 250 I.u.
That's really a low dose....
I would not front load all that HCG....way too much.....
Your doc is really behind though if he says its not been proven to increase sperm count.

Just a little lol. Now there is no guarantee that it will, and if he said that he would be right. But if you are doing it for fertility then every 4-6 weeks until you get at the levels you need to be at you should be doing a sperm analysis otherwise your attempts might be fruitless. Which the insurance bill I got was for like 400 bucks, I didn't pay that. So I don't know going on your own if you can find something cheaper. But just a thought, only makes sense to check your levels a few months in if you go this route.

One thing about HCG and check the pharmacist and the doctor, is keep in the fridge. One bottle usually last a long time if you do 250ius 2-3 times a week and the stuff loses its potency quick if not refridgerated and the stuff I had said it wasn't good after 60 days. That was my mistake at first I didn't put it in the fridge and my levels rose real slow, doc and pharmacist were both duh duh on that one so I did some research and sure enough put in fridge. After doing so my stuff was good within a month

Pharmacist should have told you to keep in fridge.
Even after 60 days in fridge some guys throw out the bottle if there is a small amount left.

Sperm analysis. Which the values who knows, you could probably look it up but every lab is different. But good point if your fertility is fine, why start this stuff?
