Who in the hell told you that? There is no such thing. 120/90 is perfectly normal.

My doctor, and whats no such thing 120/90 or "pre-hypertension", because my doctor read the reading specifically to me and explained how the 120/90 reading i got today was lower then it was last week which was 140/90 which is pretty high. The bottom number she explained is borderline being high. My doctor also explained how 140/100 is considered hypertension, 120/90 is considered pre-hypertension, and 120/70 is considered normal.

right now my doctor has me on blood pressure monitor that i have to wear for 24hrs to get an accurate reading, based upon whether she needs to put me on high blood pressure medication.

In the medical field, the word "normal" isn't specific. What is normal for you is not normal for me. 120/80 used to be the "normal", but now we have found that is no longer the case. It is now simply a referance to go by, but should never be considered "normal". My wife's blood pressure usually runs about 100/70, but sometimes dips to 94, you thikn she has hypotension? No, because that is perfectly normal for her.

Thats a good point. I'm new to the whole blood pressure thing but i just got scared to have a doctor tell me I have high blood pressure. Its good to hear people dont think its too much of a problem to be 140/90, but i just wanted to get it checked out to be on the safe side.
