I read that I should get blood donated on trt because of redblood cell. Should I tell the people that I'm donating to that I'm on trt?

Can I even give my blood?

I would not go out of my way to volunteer the info. In my case, I was pointedly asked why I wanted to start giving blood now, being that I am middle aged and had not donated before. So I said that my doctor prescribed hormone treatments might make it a good idea to donate.

I didn't really want to go there, but I like to be completely honest whenever possible, and I think they can figure it out anyway.

As long as you don't take finasteride, or your hematocrit is already too high, or you are unable to state that you have never injected something not prescribed by your doctor, you should be ok to donate.

Keep it to yourself. It's not against any rule/guideline to use doc prescribed TRT. They won't understand anyway what TRT is.

I'll disagree with you there. I think they are well aware of the influx of TRT patients they are getting and can spot them a mile away.
I think they are also conflicted about if they should be "permanently deferred" like they already have done with primary polycythemics.

EDIT: to clarify: i'm only disagreeing with the part that they won't understand what TRT is.

I can only speak from an Australian perspective, but Red Cross here are perfectly fine with TRT patients donating. They have no issues with Test, adex or HCG, where they draw the line is Raloxifene. Apparently it can cause birth defects if given to pregnant women, so being on Ralox makes me ineligible. Now I could omit the Ralox use, but my conscience is far too strong to ever do something like that. But general TRT is usually no issue and you can be completely honest with them.
