Help me please, need to lose 60 lbs!

If all your wanting is fatloss and you're not worried about gaining muscle for now, research Ketogenic dieting. You will shed fat, combined with low intensity cardio every morning, 30-60 minutes.

yea bro-just look at the biggest loser-the last just lost what? 230+ pounds in 4 months?

you are what you eat.....plain and simple.

Exactly, I can't run... Avascular necrosis of the talus bone means my artery got detached from my talus bone in my ankle and I have had 2 surgeries to stimulate blood flow to that bone so it basically wont die. Its a slow process so low impact is all I can do, part of the reason I had a 2nd surgery is because I rushed back to fast since I had a minor league contract waiting for me if I had another good year... I just wanna know the fastest and best way to lose weight and build lean muscle, along with knowing if there is anything I can take to help enhance this... I am willing to put in the work and time and money so long as I know what I am doing and not just taking a shot in the dark.... :)

Try walking, biking, eliptical or swimming, even with supplements it will take awhile to loose 60 pounds.

I lost 40 pounds in 3 months doing the Atkins diet and ZERO exercise. It sucked, but it worked.

this is exactly right. fuck OTC fat burners... they're just stupid tea derived stimulants, don't take them at all. do low intensity am cardio and run a keto diet with a multi vitamin. at your weight you should average ~3lbs/wk.

Yep, exactly. I think I posted earlier here that I lost 40 pounds in 3 months. Now that I think about it, it was actually 47 pounds in 4 months. Went from 230 to 183, was not lifting or doing cardio at that time. I did not count calories or anything, just ate as much protein and fat as I wanted, but no carbs. I was eating all the time. My bad total cholesterol dropped by 30 points, yet I was living off of bacon etc. It does take planning and discipline to not drink any or eat any carbs, and you will feel tired and not too mentally alert for a while until your body adjusts.

not drink any or eat any carbs

That's the first thing I noticed in your "Now" picture. Pitchers of beer on the table...

I love beer but it just puts the pounds on me...

Go out for a night on the town drinking beer, next thing you know your gorging on everything in site!

Of course I'm using my personal experience as an example - If the above never happens to you disregard... LOL!

Imagine what it's like when you hit your 40's? Harder than hell to get rid of the fat!

I believe you indicated you wanted low impact due to your injury and the stress your bodyweight will put on it ? AM aerobics..the longer the bettter ..swimming is good..(I sink like a rock..negative bouancey and all that.) Exer. bike and eleptical are easy on my joints...patience my man.

Agreed swimming is great. Helped me come off my motorcycle accident. Its great on the body and burn lots of calories.
jcooper you need to stay at it with good lifting and eating. Do lots of cardio and give it some time. After 3 moths and around 250 maybe do some anavar to accelerate the process.

Hey Man;

I know this isn't what you wanna hear, but diet and cardio done properly WILL cause you to lose weight. Since football got done, I haven't even been trying to cut, just busting my butt lifting and doing plenty of cardio. Along w/ a sound diet, I've lost 21 lbs in just over 2 months. W/ GREAT increased in strength. All it really took was eating well. I'm currently eating the best I've eaten in my life, and I'm 24. There have been times where I've trained harder, but haven't gotten nearly the results I've been lately, simply because my diet wasn't as good as it is now.

Lift heavy, run fast, eat well. It's as simple as that. And as someone else already mentioned, lay off the booze. Having A FEW beers once every couple weeks won't kill you, but if you're getting blasted every weekend, it will not help your physique at all.

Unfortunately, as w/ most people, you probably AREN'T going to be talked out of doing some form of juice. It's gonna be your decision. If you do decide to do something, be sure to research everything you can about it. Best of luck to you.

PS, if you need any tips on diet, plenty of us will help you out here.

I've had people lose 60 lbs for a show but thats a solid 20 weeks of diet and cardio along with fat burners. If your talking about just making lifestyle changes without being strict splurging when you feel like it then a year is more likely.

If your serious about doing it the fastest way possible then get on a solid diet and exercise plan. Keep the cardio out for now. After about 4 - 6 weeks add it in starting around 20 min - 6x per week and increasing it 5 min / week. Once you build up to around 45 min (using an eliptical works if you have a bad ankle - don't have to run), start with a fat burner taking the least amount possible and gradually increase it over time.

Just remember the more you throw at yourself at once your body is going to quickly adjust and your going to stall with your weight loss. Your 23- If it takes you a year to properly get down without killing yourself big deal. Lots of life after 23.

I am 23 now... Cardio is tough man because I can't run and its what I am used to doing... I am just now starting to swim but I haven't quite perfected it to where I know I am getting just as good of a burn as I used to get... I would love to basically burn fat and be able to get stronger as in lean body mass....

rowing machine. its is just about the most calories you can burn doing cardio outside of cross country skiing.

get someone to show you the proper way to use the machine. may look easy, but there is technique involved. get an actual rower to show you if you can find one.
