Help Needed To Interpret Bloodwork Results (Gyno, Oily Skin, Insomnia, Hair Loss, ..)

Hi,

I'm a 34 years old male and I recently did a hormone test in the hope to find the cause of my 4 principal health problems, namely : Oily skin and scalp / seborrhea, sleeping issues, prostate problems (need to urinate frequently, waking at night to urinate, voiding symptoms), hair loss (under control, with minor regrowth).

I might also have some form of gynecomastia D: may you please check attached photos to give me your opinion about it?

Blood tests were taken at 10.30AM, the results are as follow :

Elevated :
F.S.H : 13.35 UI/l (0.9-11.9)
TESTOSTERONE : 13.49 ng/ml (2.27-10.30)
SHBG : 84.02 nmol/L (18.3-54.1)
TOTAL CHOLESTEROL : 9.27 nmol/L (<5.70)
LDL : 6.16 nmol/L (<4.00)

Normal/Elevated :
CORTISOL : 287 ng/ml (55-288 ng/ml 8-10 AM)
T4L : 13.30 ng/l (7.00-14.80)
FREE TESTOSTERONE : 32.0 pg/ml (8.3-40.1) - 110.9 pmol/L (28.8-139.0)

Normal :
T.S.H. U-S 1,900 mUI/l (0,350-4,940)
L.H. : 5.64 UI/l (0.6-12.1)
ESTRADIOL : 32.9 pg/ml (<62)
PROLACTINE : 8.8 ug/l (3.5-19.4)
HDL : 2.78 nmol/L (>0.90)
TRIGLYCERIDES / 0.73 nmol/l (<2.30)
DHEA-S : 2119 ng/ml (<34yrs : 1600-4490) (>34yrs : 889-4270) - 5768 pmol/L (<34yrs : 4340-12200) (>34yrs : 2410-11600)

Can you please let me know what correlations could be made between these results and my health issues? Thank you

Kind regards,
Ad

Are you on clomid? That's easily the highest FSH I think I've ever seen, and 1400 total test isn't something one sees every day.

Thank you for your reply, I never took any steroids of my life I didn't know what clomid was until I checked. Well what you are saying isn't reassuring but anything that may help me understand what's wrong with my health is music to my ears, thanks again

Dont see gyno issues in your pics but you do have a solid foundation to go natty as much as you can then hit the higher road of AAS to get beastlike.

Your blood work is what I would often see if someone were on a SERM as they trick the pituitary into producing more hormones for the testes. As you're not, you have an amazing natural testosterone level, but the FSH is a bit worrisome.

FSH is the signal to generate sperm, and if not enough are detected, the pituitary begins to scream at the testes to make more. This *might* mean you have a low sperm count, but obviously a test will be needed to verify.

Gyno is caused by an imbalance of estradiol, triggering a growth of breast tissue. As your estradiol is well within range, I would have to guess that if there are lumps (swelling in the chest is NOT gynecomastia), they may have been there from puberty. A doctor can verify, and if they are old growths, there's not much you can do about them outside surgery.

If you just started experiencing the skin issues, I would probably look at environmental factors such as diet or even cleaning agents used for the skin/clothing. Sebum is produced naturally, but can go into overdrive as an allergic reaction to something.

Sleeping issues can be tested for with a sleep study. Apnea is very common with men, especially if they have weight in their chest and neck. Fat or muscle, it's weight that is being held up by musculature that goes limp as you sleep. I would look into that for sure.

You'll want a PSA to rule out prostate issues, but 5mg of cialis should (if it's prostate related - it's waking up to dribble essentially) take care of that.

Hair loss is something that your genes have in store for you. Adding a DHT blocking agent will likely cause you more harm than good (it can wreck your testosterone), so I would probably either get used to it, or look into other methods like a spiro topical shampoo.

Hope that helps. :)

Thank you very much for your input, a solid foundation! Really?! :-O Coming from a initiated person like you that'd be one hell of a compliment =)

Thank you so much for your detailed answer, it does help a great deal.

I didn't know this about FSH, I did a semen count test about 7 years ago which came back normal, but I will seriously consider taking a new one.

There don't seem to be any lumps in my chest so that should be some sort of swelling.

The skin issues appeared 10-11 years ago ( just realized how time flies! D: ) and since then I must have tried nearly everything under the sun in term of environnemental factors, including pretty extreme things like megadosing each vitamins/minerals, a 3 week water fast, don't wash face for several days, etc... in vain.

A sleep study sounds like a fantastic idea!

Prostate problems appeared around the same time as the skin issues, I will most certainly take a PSA test, I quickly looked into tadalafil and I will research more about it.

If I inherited my hair from my Mother's side I'm golden. Currently only the sides are affected the rest is pretty thick, it's weird looking as some hairs are growing one or more centimeter in front of my current hairline! I was going to try to add an anti-DHT but I will reconsider it, I will do more research, topical spriro sounds great.

Thanks again =)

Yes I will get it done, I live in France so it might be a little less accessible down here than in the U.S. but I'm not too far from Paris
