its clueless docs and people like yourself that send people down the wrong path, having no idea about the clinical treatment of hypogonadism. its not just about what you read, its about having experience treating patients.....................................it is very well known in the field that low free t can only be remedied with androgen therapy, these other half ass treatments will eventually lead to other problems.

did you even know that long term low SHBG can be problematic? there is absolutely no medical use for proviron whatsoever, its garbage.

sorry about the rant, but advising cycling is one thing, telling people what to do when it comes to their well-being for the long haul is completely different.

thanks for that little attack there buddy... maybe I should've mentioned in my posts that I've been on HRT therapy for nearly ten years.... under the advice of several doctors... so I'm not just speaking out of my ass... I was offering a suggestion based on my experience... and I certainly wasn't giving him absolutes like you're doing...

again, my bad for not precluding with the fact that I DO have personal experience in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), but maybe before you attack someone, and call them names, you should ask them some questions first (like how they came to that conculsion)....

I appreciate the warm welcome!

btw.... "hypogonadism", according to the Mayo Clinic, is a condition in which the body doesn't produce enough testosterone in males... according to his numbers, he IS producing testosterone... shit, that's healthy for a 30-year old... something is affecting his FREE test... I don't pretend to know what... I offered SHBG as a possibility

So I wasn't offering advice on how to treat HYPOGONADISM, to which the solution is invariably test + possible other anciliaries.... I was addressing his FREE TEST issue

thanks again!

i dont give a crap how long you have been on it, that doesnt mean you know your ass from the a hole in the ground, which is obvious. maybe if you dont believe Dr. Aziz, maybe you will understand a small article form the endocrinology society. and again, proviron is worthless, and will only mask his symptoms, mine as well take viagra.

you can say it was an attack, but i take it personally when people spread bad information about TRT..................................

From a clinical perspective, there is little justification for denying a trial of treatment to symptomatic men with testosterone greater than 300 ng/dl if they have evidence of low levels of bioavailable or free testosterone. Men with elevated SHBG may be truly androgen deficient yet their total T may appear normal. Prospective clinical trials are silent on the efficacy of treatment in men with testosterone greater than 300 ng/dl, because these men are generally excluded. Yet in one retrospective, uncontrolled study of men with sexual dysfunction and low free testosterone, 73.6% of men with total testosterone greater than 300 ng/dl reported improved erections (5). Conversely, there is no guarantee that men with unequivocally low testosterone will respond to treatment, since less than half of those with testosterone less than 200 ng/dl reported improved erections (5). The diagnosis of androgen deficiency clearly resists easy categorization by total testosterone values.

Guideline for Male Testosterone Therapy: A Clinician

as you can see, people with low free t respond better to androgen therapy than do people with low total T.
if you would like to learn more, instead of giving advice soley on your "experience" just let me know.

you didn't address anything, your attempt at solving his issue with "proviron" and "OTC SUPPS" would prove to be futile.

and please burn down the place you got that shitty definition from, thats what us in the HRT field are trying VERY hard to get away from.

I'm glad you find one (or even several) endocrinology reports to be the holy grail to HRT / TRT... my cousins and I have known some endocrinologists that didn't "know their ass from a hole in the ground"... so you'll excuse me if I don't necessarily subscribe to your doctors, and your reports... there are tons of pub med articles out there, tons of studies out there... and countless times even medical journal reports get questioned...

I know what's worked for me.... and I will share my experience, as I'm entitled to do... you can go ahead and attack people and throw reports in their faces, fine...

Last I checked, HRT and testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) have numerous ways to be approached... so I'm not gonna feel bad that you're questioning my experience and the results I've gotten.

Hey Swim,

I apologize for ranting off-course here... of course, you're welcome to follow whatever info or advice you choose... I don't cram info or advice down people's throats... and I don't attack others for sharing their experiences....

Hope you resolve your issue... good luck!

ahhhhh the show me your study and ill show the opposite argument.

back pedal if you wish, you BLATANTLY refuted the idea that he could be hypo with low free T and good total T. I mean he has great total T so why would he be a good candidate for TRT?

im sorry that i hurt your feelings by "attacking" you on the internet.

I didn't "batantly refuse" anything... I initially suggested to look into the free test issue... there is absolutely nothing wrong with that... whereas you would immediately put him on test because he fits a profile on some random study.... I'm sorry, I would like to get a better idea of what's going on in my body before I automatically go on a long-term course of action... I don't think that's unreasonable

you didn't hurt my feelings... you've just show me and everyone else the kind of person you are... glad it works for ya... have a good night BUDDY

no i would put him on test cause he fits the symptoms with low free T to back them up. guess i need to learn more about proviron and OTC supps. Its obvious since you have dealt with many Dr's and been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for 10 years your not willing to learn something.........................maybe we should address his E levels too while we are at it, nothing an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) wont fix right? :)

51 now and just feeling sluggish and old.

I felt good up till about 49 and it just seems like the wheels came off. Excess fat around my gut poor sleeping Crappy workouts cardio seems fine.

those are all classic hypo signs BTW, the fat and sleep especially. and thanks for reading the article i posted, since testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) has to be a "lifelong commitment" when the Dr clearly states it should be implemented as trial. and the Dr you "don't" subscribe to is prolly only the most respected HRT Dr in the world, i mean he wasn't the one that proved test doesn't cause prostate cancer or anything................he must not know his ass from a hole in the ground.

Anavar

I heard this product helps with fat loss and muscle. Any thoughts

Anavar

Oh I guess I didnt read that part. Thanks for the info.

The thing is swim, a cycle, at your age will prolly just do more harm than good. besides you may not even be looking to get what a cycle brings.

youve never done steroids before, prolly haven't thought about it til now right?

you prolly never needed it. you say you feel run down, not motivated and poor sleeping. its hard to eat the same as you used to without gaining unwanted fat.

so lets play this out. you do a cycle, at 51, then try to do a post cycle therapy (pct). youve done a cycle dose. now you want to recover, but recover to what? how your feeling? why? you already relized something is different and you dont like it.

so why not, instead of "cycling" try testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose for 3 months. thats the same length as a cycle, and the dose is low, and you can see if it fixes your problem.

if it does, then you know what your problem is. and you can decide if testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is for you. at that time you can blast and cruise, always dropping back to your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose, not having to worry about PCT, and keep your gains.

my dad is your age, i talked him into tryinig testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and he has never felt better. He NEVER considered using anything and looked at me funny when i mentioned it. he is in the best shape of his life.

he tried some deca and hated it, for him, just enough to feel how he use to, is plenty.

try anavar after you get that sorted, then you can run a cycle of var on top of your TRT. but for you to take some Anavar (var), and wipe what TY you have, for something that is known to have the effect go away shortly after discontinuing................ doesnt make sense to me.

i would either look into testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), or forget about AAS altogether, cause at your age, you could make your symptoms worse by cycling.

Anavar

Yeah that makes sense. My doc insists Tes is fine. The only thing he seems willing to prescribe is the HGH.

Should I go to different doc or just try and ask him again for tes

did you ask him about free testosterone? maybe print that article i posted from morgentaler and ask him to read it. hell there is even an email for him to write and ask a question if he still felt weird about prescribing you T. morgentaler is one of the docs who do's a lot of the controlled studies on androgen therapy, if anyone knows what they are talking about, its him and some others.

NJMUSCLEGUY welcome to the board.

Oak lots of good info. I know you've seen this many times were free and bio availiable is low while TT is high causing hypo symptoms. Most often these are the guys who get looked over and suffer.

Swim I would print some info and take it to your doc. I also think you are a perfect candidate but with your TT numbers many docs will dismiss your problem a something else. Gh would be a great addition but I don't see it solving your problem. Maybe with some info to look into he would be willing to do a trial run.

Either way I hope you get it worked out. We don't have to feel bad as we age. Obviously we won't run around like we are 20 but we don't have to feel like old men either.

New Doc

Well, thank for the info. I will set another appt with doc and see if he will read some of the info. If not i guess i cant alway go to a different one.
