HGH for women over 50 ... is it the answer???

I am just about to turn 51 and I am considering taking HGH. I was considering taking 1UI/ed 5 days a week or 2UI/eod
I am trying to make an informed choice. Im looking to be on maintenance doseges on HGH. Im not looking for muscle gains, not that it will happen on these low doses. Or will it. I need more energy and if I can improve my achillies problem its gonna help more with my cardio.
Any advice or stories of your own experiences would be appreciated.
Its so hard to find research on this subject.
I have achillies tendonitis and Im hoping for a slight improvement as well as the other benefits I have heard of.
I exercise 6 times a week. I am a personal trainer and run my own outdoor bootcamps.
My energy levels are lower and my mood is low as well... normal probably for post menopausal females..damn it!
Im on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) but this is not helping.
The suppliments I take now are
Thyroxine 75mg/ed
EAA powder form (yuck) 10g pre 10g post workout
L-Glutimine for achilies tendonitis 1.5g/ed
multi vitamins, omega combo, magnesium, zink and milk thistle
balanced diet around 2gs of protein per kg

(caffine, xenedrine, efedrine or stimulants make me too hyper (not in a good way) so not an option).

PS Im new on the forum

Hi and welcome. I just saw your post. Sorry...
I am in my 50's and can relate to your situation. I started gh to try and help with problems I was having with my hips(including tendons) and spine from years of ballet and age. I couldn't do cardio, leg workouts and even walking was often painful. I also wanted more energy and the side effects of fat loss and muscle gain were a plus.

I take 1 unit a day and after 6 weeks I could feel major improvement in my hip and was able to resume leg workouts. By the 3rd month I was pain free. I am still cautious and don't do anything to jeopardize my body like jumping, running, etc. I've researched enough and understand my issues so I know my limitations. I also did physical therapy in conjunction with the gh to maximize my recovery.

I have more energy and my recovery time between workouts is fast. My mood is improved. I plan on staying on this stuff for a long, long time.

You might need to take more than 1 unit a day since you are on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Estrogen can lessen the effect of gh according to what I have read. I also take hrt and would probably raise my dosage if the stuff wasn't so expensive.

Hope this helps.

menopause and HGH

I'm 53 yrs old and was prescribed HGH. I'm ready to take, but then had some hesitancy. A couple of questions if anyone knows:
1. I've heard that some women start menstruation again. If so, should I be concerned about birth control since I've not had to worry for several years.
2. I've been prescribed 1.2U/day, 5 days a week. Why the 2 off days? If we produce hormones every day and this is just replacing why do we need to take a few days off?
3. My current blood test level shows HGH at 87. Doc says 200 is good. What do people think of that level?
4. I have low energy , weight around my middle :bawling:, and arthritis pain. Have other women on this forum had success with this issues using HGH?
5. I'm purchasing through a doctor - and its very expensive. Are there are legal ways I can use HGH without the expense? (My job requires I keep it legal - or face severe consequences.)
Thanks everyone for your input. Growing old sucks but its better than the alternative. I am hopeful that HGH can make it easier.

i do not have much to say on this subject with women taking hgh. I will tell you that there is a woman in her late 40 that is taking it now at the gym for several months now and the clock is turning back. I do not know how much she is taking but it is working.
