I started TRT close to a year ago and just now getting my protocol in check. A few months ago I developed painful red bumps under my armpit. One bump got so big it drained and blood and stuff came out. Sorry for the gross image. Anyway my dermatologist prescribed me an antibiotic and some acne cream. She said it is most likely folliculitis .
Well fast forward to today and the bumps are back. They are under my right armpit and have gotten much worse over the past 2 days. I can not raise my arm and there is a constant dull ache in my armpit. The red bumps are not very visible but the pain is very bad and when I press on my armpit, pain shoots all the way down my elbow and arm.
I am worried that there is nothing I can do and I am going to just have to deal with flare ups every other month forever. I think that the H.S might be caused by the testosterone therapy and my hormones are out of wack or maybe it is a thyroid issue. All my levels are normal according to my latest blood work, though. I just do not know what to do. I have been using the acne wash every on my armpit every time I shower as well.
Anyone deal with this issue as well? Maybe it is an effect from my TRT?
