High BP on blast

My BP spikes to 150/77 when I run a cycle. I'm 51 and on TRT. It drops back to normal when I reduce to 200mgs/week. My blast is 500mgs/week, maybe 12 weeks, twice a year. Do I need to consider meds while on, I'd like to cycle a few more years safely, if possible. I do very little cardio[lack of time]. Would incorporating it in make enough difference. Thanks for input.

What other meds are you using when you cycle up? An Aromatase inhibitor (AI), if you are not using one, will help keep the aromatization in check and that **may** reduce your estrogen levels. IF they are up, it can contribute to the BP issue.

Also, you wrote that BP returns to normal. What is normal for you?

Regards.

I take a .25mgs of arimidex eod, increasing a little while on. I take coq10, hathorne, and numerous other supps regulary. Bodyfat is low. I'm 5'9" at 185 solid.

Hi Markie

I've had a problem with PM since I've joined this site. So have others...........and I've not seen anything done to correct it...so maybe YOU can PM ME?? I'm your age and I seem to be going through the same thing........Can you PM or not??

Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it.

My normal BP stays around 125/75. I have used Deca in the past year, but it messes with my libido to much now.[ have to add bromo and prefer not to]. What dose to start on med you speak of.

125/75 is fine. As for the elevation when you bump, I'd look at a couple of things first before you run out and add a BP med to your line up.

BP has a very complex relationship with just about everything you do or put into your body.

How is your diet? Sodium in take? Do you monitor it at all? What about grams of carbs you are consuming daily? You said you eat clean but what does that mean?

What about cardio - do you do any? How much? What intensity (heart rate)? How many times per week?

Caffeine or other stimulants? How much? How often?

Style of training? Reps? Sets? Days per week? Weight?

Is there a family history of BP issues? What other health issues and meds have you used/currently use?

I don't drink alcohol. I drink about 5 cups of coffee a day. I'm only one in family with regular bp[off cycle]. I don't do much cardio and probably consume to much sodium[I'm married with kids]. I'm just wondering if changing those 2 things would affect much. Bp is like 135/77 in morning on awakening.

Caffeine + Sodium + Family History + No Cardio = Likely combination for your elevated BP.

Clean up the caffeine, watch the diet closely, and add in some cardio 3x a week at 130 - 140 bpm for 15 minutes per session. You cannot do anything to mitigate the family history variable.

My Newyears resolutions are more cardio, less caffene, and try to watch sodium as best I can. These probably need to be done anyway, AAS or not. Is there a mild BP med that can be used while cycling, if it does not come down, and if so what dosage. My Docs a dick. Can't talk to him about nothin. Thanks

Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor and vasoconstrictors elevate blood pressure. IF you drink 5 cups a day, you will have high blood pressure. Get onTRT and you won't need caffeine to function. Get off caffeine and you won't have high BP.

I am always fighting the high blood pressure, so I can tell you that as long as your number doesn't go over 150/95, you will probably be fine. The trouble comes from having elevated blood pressure for long periods of time.

There is also the trouble that almost all of the BP meds cause at least some ED. They also affect strength levels and have a lot of weird side effects. If you have to take them, that is one thing, but a doctor would usually just give you a little warning about your diet, and not prescribe anything.

The first drug they give you for high BP is hydrocorothiazide, aka the water pill. This will probably take off some bloating.

Reducing your caffiene intake by half will probably be enough.

3 months with slightly elevated blood pressure just isn't going to kill you...unless you have heart trouble.
