High BP

I gave blood the other day & shit myself when she told me my blood pressure was high 134/100 pulse was 68. I know I read a thread recently on high Bp, but couldn't locate it. I have no history of high Bp.

I am taking Krill oil 3000/day & just added CoQ10 100mg/day. I eat 2 bananas/day for potassium. I also read vit D is helpful. Also no more coffee.

Any thoughts?

Drink more water, water can support reducing BP,
In addition is your BP that high all the time? Your BP will spike through out the day it will be higher after eating or coffee. so if you have multiple readings that high go see a doc if your that high he will probably want to put you on a low does of control med. your BP isnt that high; normal would be 140/80 or below the second number is the important one if it is above 80 all the time your gonna need some thing extra to bring it back down.

This is a recent development. I have never had high BP that I am aware of anyway. I had it taken again yesterday & it was 134/94.

thats a little better, I would monitor it over the next week and see if it comes down drink more water. if is is staying above 80 youll need to go see your doctor

My BP as taken at the doctor's office always seem to be borderline high, around 120ish over upper 80's. I bought a home BP monitor and got in the habit of checking it periodically, but always right before I get out of bed or after going to bed. It is usually quite a bit lower than at the doctor's office.

At home I seem to be around 120/70's most of the time, sometimes in the low 80's for the bottom number.

I have also been told that the bottom number, diastolic pressure (heart at rest between beats) is more important.

If I do not donate blood for a while my blood pressure will get high. If you think about it more fluid and thicker blood would support the idea of higher blood pressure. Aside from that I have seen great results with an arginine/orthinine combo and magnesium taken 1-2x daily (around 300mg-600mg each time). DHEA may also help sublingually. Hawthorn berries can also help. Basically you just want to get that sympathetic nervous stimulation down...and supplements such as those will do it. Mine stays around 120/75. Making sure your estrogen is not too high or too low and your SHBG is below 20 is also key to good BP. I don't want any of you to think that just because you are on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) your BP will be high. I've been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for around 2 years and controlled mine successfully without meds. Sublingual pregnenolone may also help because it is a neurosteroid which will turn into progesterone which will downregulate DHT and calm the sympathetic nervous system, also indirectly by strengthening the gaba/serotonin system which are the brakes on the sympathetic fight or flight side of the nervous system.
