Hip Abductors?

I see these at my gym and they work the outer hips/inner groin area. I see guys doing them as well, but never asked if those actually help. Would doing these help my squat or anything? Are they necessary?

pullinbig says "do abductors" and "do adductors", so that's what I do.

Do them and you'll feel the muscles they hit.

hips play an important role in squatting and pulling. so strengthen them them for a bigger squat. i dont have a scientific study for ya but i do have some decent #s in the gym. :D

too be honest all the big squatters/pullers do a lot of hip work. thats enough insight for me.

I do them as well, thank god their in a corner behind a wall so on one can see me doing them.
Mine are right next to the water fountain. Terrible placement if you ask me.

by the time we add dbs on the stack to do them for sets of 25 no one says anything. =0l

if you dont wanna use the machine do them with bands.

umm....how do you do those?????

those hip abductor thingies
Basically there are two kinds of hip abductor machines. One is where you sit and there are two-leg like instruments where you push in with your legs and that works your groin. The other one is where you put your legs between 2 leg-like instruments and you push out and it works your outer-thighs. If I didn't clarify that enough, I'm sorry lol. I can't find a pic of the machine. =/

yeah, now that i think about it...i hate these exercises because it crushes my balls. in fact, that's basically the name i give to these routines: the nutcrackers.

abductors and adductors. two different muscle groups on the hips.
