How can I beat my Pepsi/Coke cravings?

i had the same problem giving up diet coke. then i found out how bad aspartame is for you so i switched back to regular coke. then i realized that the only real reason i drank soda was not for the taste but that cold carbonation fizz. so i started drinking carbonated water ..... drink coffee or 3 cups green tea per day to take care of the caffiene with drawl. and switch to soda water. you'll be solid.

This .... and maybe add fresh lime or lemon juice or a natural sweetener.

But you're right, sometimes I just need a hit of diet coke or pepsi.

Ah! Ice cold Coke! Love it!

Yes, that's on my list of things to cut out. And reading through this makes me think that the cold carbonated fizz is what I like.

I spent a week in a health far a few years ago - no coffee. Everyone got the "Hopewood headache" about day three. Luckily there was an espresso bar not too far away - we sneaked out like school kids.

The headache is the caffeine addiction. It will last three days or so.

Cold turkey is the only way.

The substitutes don't work for me, I drink only water. I do have one soda a week with my 1 weekly cheat meal.

Two words. Sparkling water. Inused to hate the taste but it's awesome now. If you drink it fast it gives you same effect as pop!

basically its been linked to brain lesions its made up of methanol which is pure alcohol nd can lead to blindness they did a study on 50 people drinking diet sodas with aspartame and 50 drinking the standard no apsartame drink and 37 of the 50 reported that the diet soda gave them severe bouts of dizziness, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, head aches and stomach cramps whilst those on the normal sodas just reported lil sugar spikes here and there the cut and thrust is ASPARTAME is TOXIC

Caffeine is an appetite suppressant. Personally I go with diet energy drinks. Monster absolute zero is amazing. 0 Cals, can't really go wrong. I've used these drinks to keep hunger at bay while losing 110lb.

And as for the sugar vs aspartame. I don't know what aspartame does, but I'm sure 60g of sugar per can is worse for the dieter.

Best of luck

this is the problem with people in todays society they dont educate themselves enough and just swallow any old pony there fed, youtube is great just type in aspartame and you will find a wealth of information, hope this help friend.

This may sound dumb to some people but I get serious cravings for cocacola and pepsi when im not drinking it. I get serious migraines and feel tired and just weak in general probably because im not getting the caffeine and sugar I normally would.

I stopped drinking it all together yesterday and all day today ive felt extremely weak and generally tired.

Normally I drink between two and four litres a day and it is the main cause for my weight. Ive stopped drinking it in the past and lost a few stone just from that but endured a good couple of weeks of headaches.

Does anyone have any advice? as im sure those who were once overweight or still are but dieting also drank a lot of soda such as coke and combatted it.

I was going to go down the caffeine tablet + head ache tablet route but tbh id rather avoid that.

Thanks Allot,
Luke

Just dont drink it... Its that simple, Soda is pure garbage.

If you want a substitute then MIO is the shit! I have 4 different flavors on my desk and it's part of my daily water intake. I love it and it's calorie free. It's sweetened with sucralose so basically Splenda.

Try it you'll love it.
Cirrus

Completely agree with this. I love the stuff, highly recommend to help with cravings. Walmart sells a cheaper version as well ($2.50 vs. $3.50 I believe) with a few different flavors.

I have trouble with this also! Have been drinking water like crazy the last few days and have head aches. I quit smoking 8 years ago so now its time to quit the Diet sodas! Hang in there!
