how come dl's are so hard on your central nervous system??

Have heard several times that dl's really raise hell w/your csn. Why are dls so bad for that, as compared to any other major movement like squatts?? Why can u do them every wk and only dl every other or so?? Just like to know the reasoning behind this. THanks.
 
Well, I've been doing dls every week 2 for about 8 months and have been making good gains. Just heard from a few diff. people that it was tough on the csn and wanted to find out if this was true and y. Cuz it doesn't make sense to me that u can do squatts, bench, etc. every wk. but can't do dls.
 
its not necessarily the deads but the combo of squats and deads that does it. i normally pull about 1-2/month from the floor. now if i wasnt squatting then i could prolly pull every week from the floor. full pulls are the most taxing movement in the gym, period, esp once you get to pulling some weight. and no 315 for reps aint no weight in this example. plus there are many different assistance movements that help deads that can be alternated in. but on squats there are variations but basically squats need squats to improve squats. so i choose to squat weekly and pull intermitantly, while loading up on assistance work in between. read my log to see what im talking about.
 
i never cared for DLs in the past but now its my fav..i do 250 lbs for 10 reps (4 sets) once a week and it is awesome for the whole body..
 
Thanks for clearing that up for me pb. I'm gonna start posting my training log 2, prob. next wk. so u can c what i'm doing. Still looking into a camera, prob. have 1 in 2-3wks then i'll get in touch w/u.

I currently squat every week and dead every other week (sometimes I dead for 2 weeks on, one off) I'd rather dead every week than squat every week becuase I like deadlifting a lot more, would I still see the same kind of gains deadlifting every week and squatting every other week? Or should I keep my routine the way it is now

if what you doing is working dont change a thing.
