How do you train someone that's morbidly obese?

I've recently been watching A/E's Heavy, a new show about obese people that lose weight in six months.

How do they do it? How do you get someone that has zero physical activity, who spends their day eating, while sitting in a bed. Who get tired just by getting up from the bed, who have numerous medical conditions.

And why do people let themselves go? I guess many people want to be healthier, they want to lose weight, and the task of the personal trainer wouldn't be limited to exercise the person, but also provide mental support, and try to change the way the obese people think.

How do you start from scratch with a morbidly obese person? And only if it's safe, can they use AAS to accelerate their weightloss process?

Well ,I think it has to be a combination of many factors, both mental & physical, the obese person could have a medical condition contributing to their condition, like a metabolic issue, Insulin Resistance, Impaired Mitochondrial Function, etc..

If this is a medical problem you have to treat this with medication & treatment, but I think there's a psychological factor as well that has to be treated, our bodies adapt & accept our behavior, therefore if you get your body used to a certain eating habit & lack of activity, your body will adapt to this & you will need to change your behavior and lifestyle in order to see change both personally and physically.

As far as AAS helping an obese person, I would say AAS is not a good idea at all; they should begin to change their behavior as well as their caloric intake & start introducing a higher activity level.

As I have struggled with a weight issue my whole life, I have read a lot of different theories on this topic.
From what I understand we really don't truly know what contributes to little or massive weight gain.
You have people on the OBESE side saying "Hey I have tried everything and it doesn't work"
And the people on the ATHLETIC side saying "More exercise, less calories"

Why else would there be a myriad of diets out there? (Other than money)

And there are a few who can sit there and eat shit all the time (my brother) and not gain any weight. While I eat pretty clean and still seem to stagger on the heavier side.
Some obese people can lose the weight and that is wonderful for them. Some obese people try but, something in their body isn't releasing their fat storage.
I mean the real reason we have fat is because our bodies prepare for the food shortage during the winter months, so why do some people have it all the time(not just in the winter)?
Just like how I talk to people about the use of steroids and how it can be beneficial to you. Theirs a difference between use and abuse. Everyone still has negative views on it, and as we all know anyone who takes steroids DIES FROM IT ALL THE TIME.
Just my two cents, I do give full refunds

I think that it starts with too many calories in and then not burned off. Then that becomes a way of life.
This may start in early childhood and is then extended and amplified in the teen years and adulthood.
However that is not to say that there are those few that truely do have a condition of some kind or other.
