How long before you feel something?

Hey guys, 7 days in to testosterone, I've had 2 50mg testosterone ethanate injections so far (self-TRT, UGL). My levels hover between 7.5-10nmol/L so I wonder how it feels to be within or upper range. I could have sworn I felt something after my injections, this sort of 'fearless' attitude and this sense that I'm stronger. However, I'm certain this is placebo as studies show it takes 3-6 weeks to feel anything, especially towards mood. Sex drive might be higher? Not too sure, still a bit 'meh' in the performance department.

How long did it take you felt you were on TRT?

How long did it take you felt you were on TRT?

It takes 4 weeks to become saturated fully then one more week to notice the majority of the quick acting benefits, so 5 weeks total to truly feel great. This applied to me as well.

However I did start to get some increased libido at week 3 and some other small changes, but I was also at 149ng/dl prior to starting TRT.

My levels are now 700s with 100mg a week of test-e and it's much better than before I can tell you that, I'm 8 weeks in now and starting to see positive physique benefits.

It's been 3 years since I started trt. My test level was 170 before my first injection. Dr.'s office gave me first injection of 200mg on Tuesday. The next day, I had more energy, and was able to do a lot more, physically, in that day, than I had been able to do in a long time. Two days post injection, I was hit with strong anxiety. I'd never had anxiety in my life, so I had no idea it could be so bad. Fortunately, I knew the anxiety would pass.

After the initial injection, I split my dose into two weekly injections. I started to feel better physically, almost right away. Maybe because my test levels were so low to begin with.

It took months of gradual, overall improvement to feel like myself again. Including, adjusting my protocol to something that works for me.

Some say any noticeable difference within a few days is the placebo effect. I know with me it wasn't. That anxiety was definitely real.

I also wanted to add my experience as a new guy with arimidex, not sure if you're going to use an AI or not as I see no mention of it. Point being for me I thought I had felt my nipple being sore and I convinced myself that I was about to develop gyno... so I went against all advisement and my better judgement and dosed the arimidex at .5mg ED for a week, did my labs only a few days after that and my E2 was crashed to a 6 pg/ml when normal is around 20-30.

So if you do add an AI - don't get paranoid like me and start dosing it high without labs, I'm starting to feel better now (wrists hurt bad) but I quit using the AI for a week then started back up at .25mg twice a week.

I'm also using HCG at 750IU a week right now, I was using 500iu a week but my nuts started to hurt really bad in week 5-6 so I bumped it up and it has helped greatly with that ache, also noticed an over all better feeling with the extra 250iu addition a week.

I forgot to ask how old you are and all that good stuff... any idea how long you've been hypogonadal?

I am told that after about 6 months is when a lot of the mental health stuff shines through as well, like improvement in depression and anxiety.

At week 4 I had a slight increase in my resting heart rate and this freaked me out really bad, you can ask halfwit on here, I almost drove myself into a heart attack stressing over the tachycardia and I drove my HR up more stressing, etc. My hearts left ventricle is slightly enlarged (mildly concentric) so I tend to panic about my heart of course. So I worry TRT could make it worse but with a test level of 149ng/dl and being primary I will likely suffer from worse if I do not continue TRT. So anyway what happens is your body does speed up a bit when the test fully saturates, testosterone influences adrenal based hormones and your metabolism speeds up.

I can now eat around 2700 calories a day and still drop weight/body fat, prior to TRT I had to limit myself to 1,800 calories daily in order to lose a pound a week, and it turned out most of that pound lost was lean tissue. I also started to get pumps in my muscles like you would not believe (compared to my old normal) and different aches/sore spots from working out than before. After talking to halfwit and listening to his guidance I decided it was likely increased blood flow to my muscles, and the new sore feeling was new muscle growth due to increased protein synthesis (test heavily influences IGF-1).
