How much cardio???

I'm looking to lose some weight as I've put some on in the last year.
I was just wondering how much cardio I should each time I hit the gym. Should I being doing weight training to also start out?

Any ideas?
 
I usually do about 45 min 5x a week right when i wake up in the morning on my home exercise bike. you should do weight resistance training also. if you do cardio at the gym at the same time you work out do it after your resistance training. If you start out I suggest about 30 min 4x aweek so you don't get burned out and not want to do it
 
I do as little as possible....
.....I fucking HATE cardio.....lol


But when I do it I go 45mins 5 times a week in the AM. I never combine my weight and cardio sessions. If you must do it with your weights then do it AFTER not before.
 
and dont dont run your brains out for 45 min just get your heart rate up to fat burning zone and take your mind to a happy place if you wake up from zoneung out think of how ripped your getting.cutting up is all in the mind if it wasnt we allways be eating pizza and sleeping in the exta 45 min.
 
If you are just getting started your should hit the gym 3 times per week. At this stage your will be focusing on your behavioral modification and getting used to exercise in your life. Try the following:
Monday: Chest+shoulders+triceps
Wednesday: Back+traps+biceps
Friday: Legs
Perform 2 exercises per body part 3sets of 10-12 reps
Throw abs in every second workout
Perform 15-30 mins cardio after every wieght session followed by 5-10 mins of stretching.
If you want to come in more than this just come in for cardio and maybe throw in some abs.
You also need to consider your nutrition. Without eating right your could do 10 hours of cardio a day and still be a fat mess.
