how the FUCK can people have such little motivation when it comes to fitness goals?

i just find i absurd and insane how somebody can say, in all seriousness, "i really need to drop 10lbs" or "i need to work out more often"... and they just cant seem to fucking do it. i also find it odd how some people can just eat something without looking at, or even thinking of the nutritional value. i'm sure most of us can agree that our daily workouts are something that is a part of us and something to look forward to.

sure doing cardio sucks, and being on a cut diet and eating bland foods isn't the most enjoyable thing in the world, but i dont see it as a real obstacle. it's so simple. i love eating, i love eating a lot and i love eating a lot of delicious foods just like everyone else, but its just crazy to me how some people get so much satisfaction from eating these delicious foods they cant even give it up for an entire week.

take my girlfriend for example. for nearly 2 months she's been saying constantly that she needs to drop 5 kilos. she has a great build because she used to run track, and i think she looks great the way she is and i am so sexually attracted to her but dropping a few kilos wont hurt.

she still says all the time she needs to drop the weight, yet barely hits the gym twice a week and eats like shit most of the time but then rolls her eyes when i ask the waitress how many grams of chicken is in the dish i want to order.

no, i'm not mad at all my girlfriend hasn't lost weight, cause i still think she is so sexy i get horny just by looking at her. but its absurd to me how SO many people lack that simple ability. when i tell myself okay, time to cut.. i just flip a switch in my head and i'm in cutting mode.

it just makes no sense to me how someone can look in the mirror and decide that they are unhappy with the way their body looks, and then just do nothing about it.

It is all about delayed gratification and knowledge.

How many people want to make more money but don't go to college? How many don't save money? How many don't work weekends to get ahead? How many wish they played an instrument but don't practice every day for 3 hours? And so on. I am sure I can find aspects of your life where you have not been able to delay immediate gratification or don't know there best way to accomplish your goals.

Don't be a hater.

Sometimes it's hard to understand and I think that way often. However exercising is a lot of work and more so for some.

There are body parts that lag others of mine. BUT some of the exercises I just hate so, they still lag.

Oh and for the GF , hell with where I have found myself in life, I wish I had a GF. I've even lowered my standard to meet a nice lady even if she has some extra pounds. Hmm hang on to what you got if it is all good and she loves you. Never, never in a million years would I think this would be......be cool

I learned a long time ago to stop taking on "project girlfriends"... I remember when I was 18 or so, my first girlfriend was super cute, but about 15 lbs over weight (she was 5"0)... you need to have a fire in your belly to make changes in your life, whether they be fitness or personal, its not something someone can install in you.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I started powerlifting as I strong for a light guy. Now it s part of my daily routine. I don t know about Israeli society but most of America has gotten woefully soft and complacent.

I see sometimes a couple where both are way to heavy and wonder what the tinsel strength of their bed frame is then I remember if they even do , do it..it can t be vigorous or for very long.

Give yourself some credit. Your going to the gym to stay in shape. Right there you're in the top 10% of our age group. There's lots of good women out there looking for a guy that is not a slob. You just have to get out there and meet them. Pretty soon you be coming on here bragging about balling some gal half your age and we look forward to the stories. :)
Live is always changing. Look back how many times you thought nothing was going to change. So..., things are going to change again. Learn from your mistakes (if you made any) and move forward. And remember. It always could be worse. We could be pushing up daisies.

Wait until you are about 65ish. Most of your friends will have huge beer bellies, carrying canes and assorted varnished wooden walking sticks, with those really 'cool' Santa Clause beards. lol Shoot me now, before I turn into one of them, pls

When I met my wife she worked out and trained people and worked a 40 hr week. Killer body. She had nice girl muscles. Then we got married and had a kid. After breast feeding her hormones went to shit and she has to take anti depressant. Between the drug and her 40 hr work week and our child and yes she is still a trainer and she eats healthy , she has put on. Weight. And now she just has regular girl arms, no more girly muscle... she is always saying she wants to loose weight . I tell her to stop cause she is doing enough. It's called life's trials and one day you will meet your own,

OMG!!!! :)

But yes, I've travelled thru a few times and it's an interesting place, to say the least. On first trip going north from spending a month or so in Florida, where there was biking trails, places to jog and endless ways to stay in shape, I stopped at the first Tourist Center. I asked the gal working there about where I could find the same facilities in Mississippi. She said "Sorry sir, we don't have those things here, but I can tell you about some really nice places to eat". That memory has always stuck with me. (and she was right, the food was good.)

Well there's a few problems of why people can't find motivation

1)This one applied to me. A lot of people are unaware that you can hit your goals and eat whatever you want as long as you hit your macros(IIFYM). The majority of people I see at the gym never heard of this and still think that to hit their fitness goals, they need to eat 6 meals a day broken down into every 2 hours of nothing but plain chicken breast and brown rice. And mustard if you want to add flavor. 5 years ago I used to try this diet all the time and would be spitting up vomit on the 3rd day as soon as that chicken goes in my mouth. I just recently discovered IIFYM and this defiantly works. However I see a lot of "clean dieters" ripping on it all the time in the Youtube comment section saying shit like "WOW SO I CAN EAT POP TARTS ALL DAY AND DROP 20 POUNDS AND GET SHREDDED?" But if you actually know how IIFYM works, you will find out very quickly that you in fact can not pig out and still hit your fitness goals. You can not go over the fats and carbs(and it's really the fats allowance limit that keep you in check from hitting all your carbs from Del Taco or Burger King). Sooo ya. Most people can not do that old school dieting shit. I was one of those people. Totally different story now and getting amazing results.

2)People are impatient now a days. Everything is all about now now now. Fitness goals take time especially when you're natty. I don't know about where you guys live but I go to the most crowded gyms in LA and I have 3 memberships to 24 hour fitness, Golds Gym and LA Fitness. Every new year there is a SHIT TON of new people for their new years resolution. Then they all fall out around valentines day. Then they all come back in late April completely out of shape still and want to be a shredded 10% with solid muscle mass by summer. Overall people lack patience. I also keep hearing all these commercials on the radio where you can just have weight loss surgery, and of the main things that they advertise as their seller hook towards the end is "EAT WHATEVER YOU WANT AND STILL LOOK SEXY".

3)We live in a new PC era where it's all about "be comfortable in your skin"...."if eating makes you happy then eat". We now have plus sized models. Fat women are taught to "love their curves(or rolls)". If you tell them anything, even in a nice way like as in you're trying to help them, it's considered "body shamming" and you will be as viewed as Hitlers re-incarnation and hated by everyone. You guys that live in the South and mid west do not see this as much but here in SoCal, the douchy PC culture is in full effect. Also I must bring out that this is the only nation that recognizes laziness known as obesity as a disability. Whenever I go to Wal-Mart, I always see obese people riding around in those store provided mobility scooters, and as soon as I see them get to their car, they get up and can walk just fine. Now I know that some people are obese because they have a legit medical condition like peripheral neuropathy where it might hurt for them too much to walk. However the majority of people on these scooters are just legitimate lazy fat fucks. South Park literally made a whole episode dedicated to this and making fun of it:

And here is a prime example of fat girls "loving themselves":

One word......Laziness. Thats all it is. If you want something bad enough, a certain physique, or anything for that matter you can get it. The only reason people arent motivated towards fitness is because they are lazy and dont want to be. Or, they start on a program and quit because they are lazy.

People can do and get whatever they want in the world. The only thing holding them back is themselves.

Also. Some people just arent into fitness and dont care about it. Same as how I dont inderstand how someone can go golfing every weekend. Its not my thing.

I can't find the exact motivational poster, but this one is pretty dang close.

Schredder nailed it: Laziness.

If I can work 50hrs a week, train for 14, do night classes, AND make time for my family - NOBODY has an excuse. Yet, I hear them all the time. ;)

My .02c :)
