How To Dispose of Pins and Empty Vials?

Yes, I searched.

I've been doing what most people recommend - been tossing all my pins into an empty protein jug and I will seal it up with super glue once it's full.

But then what? Do you just toss it into the dumpster? I've heard horror stories about people getting busted for disposing of their pins in dumpsters.

Also, what do you do with the empty vials? I was thinking about smashing it with a hammer so the glass pieces are so tiny they're unrecognizable. Then just throw the pieces into the recycle bin? What do you guys think?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

See if you can get yourself a Sharps medical waste container....The yellow ones.

Not sure if anyone can just get em, I got mine from my doc.

When it's full you just take it back and they dispose of it properly and give you a new empty one.

Thanks. It looks like I can purchase a "sharps container" online. I'll have to see if there's any exchange programs nearby.

Are these exchange programs anonymous or do you have to give your info? If it is anonymous, can they open it up and take your DNA from one of the used pins to track you down?

Depending on where you live, some communities have free or charge hazardous waste sites for public. I just drive up and turn it in and they give me a new container. My wife had gestational diabeties and I have just continued using the container she was given by her doc. Look online for a site near you.

I don't know where you are but here in Canada some shoppers drug marts and other pharmacies have something called orange drop. They give you a sharps container and when it's full you just return it and they give you a new one.

If your from here this is the site Orange Drop | MAKETHEDROP.CA there's a spot on there where you put your postal code in and it gives you the closest locations to your house. I have 5 of them around me.

If your not from Canada then I'm sure you guys have something similar in your country.

I hope you aren't putting them in your own personal garbage where someone can trace it to you. Disposing of hazardous waste in regular garbage can get you in some deep shit. Put it in someone's garbage you dislike very much.

No worries dude but if I was a sanitation person and I picked up someone's trash that had hazardous waste in it, I'd make sure I reported them and if by chance I got jabbed taking their trash, I would certainly make sure they burned.... just saying dude... be careful. You just never know bro...that's the only point I was making. LOL...I put mine in a sharps container and seal it and dispose of them in various fast food parking lot garbage cans.

First of all if your going through someone elses garbage your fucked in the head.

Unscrew the needle from the syringe, pull out the plunger or whatever its called and put the needle in the barrel of the syringe with the screw part going in first, then jam the plunger back in. Safest way right there.
