How to get Kaiser to prescribe for low test?

Hello! This is my first post.

I'm 43 years old. Had blood test done yesterday, and my total test was 255 (range > 200).

It was around 850 back in 2002.

I am experiencing all the joys of low testosterone, yet my doctor just emailed me and said my test levels were normal.

I'm with Kaiser, and doubt that they will do anything for me.

Any experience with Kaiser and getting some help for low testosterone?

since your labs are in range they may not do anything..if u were out of range your doc could either prescribe it to your or may refer u to an endo

Yes, but I thought that context mattered… I used to have higher total test, and now it's less than a 1/3 of what it used to be. If it had always been lower, and I felt normal, I could see the rational.

Tell your doc you want to get retested to confirm . Then stay up the night before testing and get stumbling drunk , with little to no sleep . That will get you within range everytime . ~Bo

Not everyone who lives in Marin is rich, haha. But yeah, if/when Kaiser fails, I need to do some SERIOUS research on other means.

kaiser is the absolute worst. unless u lucked out with an awesome dr, u wont get them to give it to u, they definately wont cover it. get your blood work and take it to your dr , if you think he'll write u a script and you''ll have to buy it w/out insurance
