how to work on line down middle of chest???

you have to get your chest bigger over all. There is no specific sternal pectoralis. there is pec major, minor and some clavicular fibers that have independent innervation but this is not the case for the sternal fibers.

People will say close grip etc but the reality is you just have to make your chest grow and the sternal fibers will grow.

exactly. the pec muscles run horizontally. i love to hear people say dumb shit like flyes work your 'inner chest'.

Heavy bench work will add meat to your chest, which will make that area more pronounce.
 
I also think that a lot of it has to do with genetics. I struggle with the same thing, I train chest guaranteed everytime with the same bloke and he has developed it. But like these guys said add loads of mass to it, it'll start to stand out more.
 
for one if you want to encress you bench,when you are liffting light weights,lift you head up and your legs up and cross them,this will add 30%STRENGTH TO YOUR BENCH.

I like to lay on the flat bench and do free weight fly's real slow and when i bring them down i make sure i feel my chest stretching. for you bigger guys I heard that it helps if you can tuck your shoulder blades around the bench for more range of motion.
