Contrary to popular belief, there isn't a way to "spot reduce" body fat from one area outside of surgery. You have to reduce your total body fat, which will get rid of those love handles and help expose those abs in the process. As we all store and reduce fat differently, you might find this to be one of the first things to go when eating right and following a good training program, or one of the last. Exercises on those areas only will make them thicker/stronger, not necessarily reduce the size of them.
