How often do you guys donate blood to keep hemoglobin / RBC count within a healthy range? How much blood?

Thanks,
Mopar

4 months is good. I give every 3 but have a genetic tendency toward retaining iron so I HAVE to give.

Do you tell them that your on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) when you donate? I've thought about donating just for the hell of it. I used to do it everytime the blood mobile came around the area but since I started Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) I wasn't sure...

yes - I gave blood a couple of weeks ago. I did not tell them I was on TRT.

They take the same amount of blood out for each person. I saw them carry away 4 bags of blood when they did me.

the bonus is the blood center near me gives your cholesterol numbers a couple weeks later.

Ive been on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) about a year now and havent donated. Probably should though. Part of my problem is I usually have "too new" of a tattoo so they dont let you donate. lol

my hemo is upper normal. i was donating whole blood 1 pint every 56 days and that didnt seem to drop it. last time i went i donated double rbc which is supposedly better for people trying to thin their blood. ill know next time i go if it helped. you can only do a double rbc every 112 days

Mopar - My concern is my blood being given to somebody and they have a possible reaction to the Test, Tren, A-50, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), Clomide, Anastrozole, etc, etc that is theoretically running through my blood.

I'm not a Doctor...

I'm kind of dreading donating my blood now. When I was drawing blood recently, I asked her what gauge size needle she was using and we started talking about donating blood. She said they use a 17 gauge!

This is the list of meds that might keep you from donating. HGH is one of them but not test or Hcg:

Thanks for the update Mopar!

I have no problem donating blood, the way I see it is my body will make more so why not?

IF I am correct its only the HGH from the original days. They used HGH from dead people to treat living people, and in turn it created some nasty disease that made those people they gave it to's lives a living hell

Lab made HGH form today is a totally different creature...

The price our forerunners paid....

But to be honest man your blood gets processed, and split into 3 different products and filtered. When I gave blood they explained they separated it into plasma, RBC, and either white blood cells or platelets I dun remember what....

But its checked pretty damn good. When they give it, there will be nothing in that bag but blood cells/platelets/plasma

As posted, as long as you are not using one of the "forbidden medication" you are ok to donate. I don't tell them about the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), just to avoid any unnecessary complications. I have read that even it your T levels are very high, it will not hurt the recipient because the proportion of T that is in your pint of donated blood will not be significant and will be filtered out relatively quickly. I donate 3-4 times a year.

Never. RBC has always been in the range for me. I might consider donating blood if I cycle in EQ for an extended period of time but I haven't run EQ in quite a while. I plan to soon though.

I donate blood regulary as well, but was under the impression they didn't want steroid users not because of the steroids but becasue we self-administer needles so they are not assured of sterile protocol being followed.

Just donated again RBC count % was 46%

Hemoglobin was Men: 15.4 gm/dl, right in middle. Looks like every 4-5 months donation is currently enough for me.

Range is: Men: 13.8 to 17.2 gm/dl
