Ok, ever since say 8 months ago when I tore my ACL and took a bite directly in the palm of my hand (dog) I haven't been the same.

Needless to say I wasn't in the gym for a while, my old man passed and a whole whirlwind of shit that had me slumped in a hole of depression.

So what's next should be obvious: No working out and lots of eating (crappy food albeit).

Now I've been feeling healthy enough to get back in the gym. I'm taking CE2, a multi and my regular whey shakes. Should I cut out the CE2 for now till I get me bf down and concentrate more so on cardio w/ a bit of weights or regular weight regiment just bump up the cardio?

I've been slowly but surely getting my diet back in check. I'm doing pretty well with that now. I fully understand that your diet has a lot to do with the extra fat loss (was going to type weight, but fuck it right, it's fucking fat).

I'm thinking "light" maintenance weights and long cardio (though when I get to hittin' the iron I don't want to stop...), what would you guys recommend?
I need to lose like 20lbs from this slump I have been in. Right now I'm 6' 4" (3 1/2") and 260pds.

Appreciate it, guys!

Sorry to hear bout your old man, seems 07 has not been a good year at all for you. I too have suffered a ruptured ACL and after recon I thought it would answer all my problems this wasnt the case my op was a failiure my thigh shrunk to 19' and After a shit load of hard work managed to get it up 21.5' just to find out I have to go through surgery again and watch my leg waste away one more time.
At least your getting back in the seat which is good to hear lets hope 2008 will be a better year for us all.

MMan, I really appreciate and empathize.

2007, this far, has been the worst year of my entire life, to say the least. This far being the keywords...

To me, personally, saying next year is like thinking or saying "tomorrow I’ll do it", "tomorrow it begins!” etc. One thing in my brief period of life that I've come to accept as fact, undeniably, is that "tomorrow" does come (for most at least) but it doesn't incorporate any actual follow-through of committed promises to oneself", "goals", "daily plans", "commitment" etc.

Basically, (no offense whatsoever Drako) FUCK tomorrow when ya got a TODAY!

I'm semi-opting for the surgery, but doubtful.

In the right mindset, what doesn't kill ya really does make you stronger...

What helped you the most, rehab-wise? Do you think operation or no (just slooow rehab)?

Because of my chioce of 'sports' (Pro Wrestling) and lifstyle I was advised to have the surgery without it my knee would have got worse first ACL tear then Probs PCL and miniscus then cartlage tears which would result in having a knee replacment anyway. Once your ACL goes unless your willing to slow down surgery is the only way forward.
I'm a big believer in Living for the moment but with things like surgery you have to consider tomorrow and the day after, planning for that long painful road to recovery, How you gonna train, eat, sleep.
Rehab is slow I've been told at least 9 months before i can get back into sports and heavy lifting (legs).

You might consider cycling for ACL recovery. It puts relatively low strain on the joint and has been called beneficial. A road bike pedalling along flats will let you pick your own intensity by shifting gears and will keep your quads muscular as well as work your lower back. Cyclists are thin only because of their diet. Eating at weight lifting levels will let you keep your mass. Laying off a bit should get rid of that 20 lbs.

I have been cycling a bit (at the gym, I don't have a bike) but mostly elipticaling.

I think I'm going to start doing way more on the bike.

After I did squats that day my knee stays on my mind. I doesn't hurt, but it's got that annoying weakness to it. Driving me fucking insane!

Nobody wants to be around me when I'm watching mma (IFL, UFC, Pride, Etc). That's what I was training for when I first tore it. Can't practice Jui-Jitsu with a torn ACL. I'm getting pissed just writing this...
