Hello everyone

I am 45 years old and I am pathetic. I have become tired of my lethargic life and I want to spend the second half of my life fit and built.
I am 6 foot 5 inches tall and weigh 393lbs. I have developed Type 2 diabetes from the weight but other than that I still am in pretty good
health blood pressure wise. I am also able to do physical activity but the stamina is gone...

I could really use some help to get going. I seem to have ZERO energy to get going. I have the want to and I will succeed but I know their
are probably a lot of useful tips.

Believe it or not I used to be fit (20 years ago). But depression and laziness has turned me into Jaba!

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I want to lose the fat and build myself into a monster.

Thanks!

Getting a "female menopausal" hormone panel from ****DO NOT POST NON SPONSORS links PLEASE **** is the first thing I'd do. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you're fighting low testosterone, which will make your come back downright miserable and neigh impossible.

Great to see you here. Learning how to diet and workout properly has been a life changer for me and I owe a great deal of it to this forum and its members.

X2 on the blood work see what you are working with before getting started it will possibly save you wasted time and aggravation. :wallbash:

Here is what I looked like starting and 6 months later:

3j is great the best money I ever spent.

WOW! Thanks for the warm welcomes and encouraging words. I will be busy reading all the links you have provided and educating myself.

A warm welcome Sir !

In addition to bloods and diet you gotta move....start with walks..brisk till ur breathing harder but NOT gasping.

U shall see the expenditure of energy over a surprisingly short time will make u want to expend more..I promise you. Tell us a synopsis of a your dailey routine.
You get up at....
Ur work schedule is....include commuting to and fro..
Your neighborhood, climate where you live..are their hill s where you live. There s none where I m at 1500 meters from front beach...biggest hill is the RR tracks.
U have time to train at night ?

I go to a powerlifter gym x 3 times a week to train the big 3 but to start..Planet Fitness is a great deal with awesome, smooth machines. For 17.00 a month I can train everywhere I travel, and I tavel A LOT due to work and my son.

I recommend u start with w machines if your gonna do weight as you enter what we call " the life". It s a safe way to build a base for strength and almost injury proof.

We re here...ask anything anytime. Double check any gym advice here...don t let some dumb sum bitch give u ill advice.

So u know,

We all had to start somewhere. Some of us started out obese and go into beyond shape and others started from skinny and became huge.

At the end of the day u can read all the stuff online, u can complain to everyone u see, but the ONLY thing that makes the diff is what U DO.

If ur tired of what u are and how u feel, then make the change happen. The only motivation u need is believing in urself. it's like they say 1 step leads to a thousands miles. I started fitness and I can't stop, its just what I do now and to think of spending a week away from working out and busting my butt with diet and training is shocking to me.

PS: My above advice should be the most u need, but if ur still stumped. I would do what Half said and do bloodwork for ur testosterone levels. If ur still in good range, then start rolling with cardio and eating clean, make ur goal to lose weight and when ur slightly satisfield with ur new look, then don't stop, but up ur calories and put on size.
