I know most of you hate gels/creams but...

I wanted to add that I've listened to Dr. Crisler on super human radio discussing TRT, restarts and all.
He said one main stream doc at a hospital pulled one of his patients off Androgel cause he underwent sone heart surgery that has nothing negative correlated with adequate T levels. Doc Crisler was pissed....
He said the move the doc made with his patient increased inflamation and was actually hurting the healing process for the heart surgery he went through.
His wife ended up sneaking in some Androgel to her husband who had the surgery and he was feeling better.....
Etc....
Crisler said beibg an anti aging doc they are prone to being on thinner ice in a way with state medical boards. He said this doc who pulled his patient off Androgel should be brought before the state medical board. I absolutely agree.
Do these scum pull the patient off insulin? Off anti d's ?
Then why Testosterone?
We need docs like Crisler who look out for TRT patients as a proper doc should.

I agree... It's damn shocking.

I had a bad reaction to the delivery method used by Androgel (did you know it actually uses Lye in it?) and I sweated so badly after taking Axiron that I literally sweated all the testosterone back out of me.

Injections are superior in all ways but one to the gels/creams/liquids...the only thing they are inferior in is that you have to use a needle. But think about it, you have to cover with a shirt until you shower - which means you cannot suddenly get down and dirty with a woman. No thanks.

That's definitely a concern for me as well. I sweat a lot at my job, so I'd rather avoid the stress about whether or not the cream is actually getting absorbed by the time I start working.

Chiefy,

How long ago was this? One thing about forums... the content rarely dies. Drs like Crisler and Mariano used to frequent all sorts of forums, but have since died off. If he said this 6 years ago... well.

Here is something VERY recent from him... a presentation he gave. Think it sums up his current position quite nicely.

Downloadable slides of presentation

Thanks,
Jim

Turns out that it was an older quote. I don't have the exact date but the forum member who posted it prefaced the statement by saying that it was a bit dated.

Thanks for the video, really solid summary of TRT in under 10 minutes.

My TRT Doc recommended that I not do the transdermal, simply because of the bad side effects I had with the other methods of delivering testosterone. What if I had a bad reaction to the transdermals? I would have to get them cut out...but if I had a bad reaction to the injections I could simply not do another one. It sounded like a no brainer to me.

We were both shocked that my test levels were literally the same after 4 months of Axiron as they were before I started using it...153 (lower range of normal is 250).

I think you are confused about what a transdermal is... it is medication absorbed through the skin (like gel). You're thinking of implanted pellets such as testopel.

Transdermal can be either of those it just means through skin. So if we specify are communication is improved

No, sorry. Please don't correct someone unless you are sure. Transdermal refers to being absorbed through the skin, NOT implanted underneath it or injected through it.

Ok if you are correct I will ask you this question. Is there a layer of skin that the testosterone travels through when using a pellet?

OOPS, you are right. I was thinking subdermal? Yes, testopel. My bad! Transdermal did not work for me at all, but I covered that already. I hated having areas of my body that a woman could not touch...
