but I think you ladies may be able to help more than the guys. So I have some shoulder/upper back hair(sexy huh?) and wanted to know about permanent solutions. Have you ever tried permanent hair removal with laser treatments? Any other suggestions? Is it gimmicks or is there actually a real permanet hair removal solution? thanks

I had permanent laser hair removal ... let me tell you, it's no gimmick it works. The problem is this: it's very painful. I had five treatments and it was gone. Even after the first treatment the hair grew back softer and in some places hardly at all. If you want a permanent solution I can really recommend this as it.

My hair is ver very light and not noticeable to anyone else but me really, but im still considering getting it removed by this process. From what i read the laser treatment works better with dark hair, hear anything to this effect?

I did hear that it works better with darker hair. I may check out a few places, but it seems like it can run into the thousands for a back fix.

Wow....I've been thinking about doing this for a couple of years. Where did you have it done and how long has it been?

I've heard it only lasts about 10 years but 10 years.....still pretty damn good.

I got it done here in London probably about four years ago. If you've got the money available, I'd say go for it without hesitation.

Subsequently I've never heard of it working better on darker hairs, to the contrary from what I learnt it works better on fairer, lighter hairs.

I used a product called Crotex hair removal cream to get rid of unwanted hair on my back and they say it stops growth of hair permanently. Its worked great for me.

I had my underarms and bikini area done. It did hurt, but was worth it in my opinion. It doesn't work on light colored hair. The darker the pigment the better. It took about 4 times to get all the hair from coming back. It's been about 6 years and the hair is still gone. I'd join groupon and living social, etc. They have deals on laser hair removal occasionally.

I had laser hair removal on my legs, bikini line and underarms over 10 years ago. It is not permanent hair removal. It is hair reduction. Some people do have really good results (like me, where even after over 10 years I just have wisky hairs here and there that I have to pluck out occassionaly). If you want to permanetly remove your hair the only option is electrolysis, where they individually do each hair, they send a electrical current into the root of each hair follicle to kill it. This is a long process where you would go for treatments of approx. an hour in length, so the cost will add up, but the long term results will be better, and it does work on lighter hair. oh course there is always the option of doing both laser hair removal and then getting electrolysis as you have hair regrowth or for any hairs that were "killed" by the laser.

Laser removal! when I took an aesthetics course, and when we got into electrolysis, we were allowed to practice on our friends and family for free. I did so many of my friends whole legs for free, just go to an aesthetics college and ask when the students are doing that portion of the course and if they are doing it for free. :)
