Try super slow for a while-its a great way to increase strength.
On the blast up--don't blast up but try make it take it least 6 seconds to push the weight all the way up. Lower down at normal pace. You may not be able to lift very heavy while you are doing this but when you go back to your normal way of benching you should be stronger.
post you routine and tell us where you are weekest on the bench. in other words are you missing the lift at the bottom, mid way up or a the top (lockout). I had a 15year old kid a wrote a prgram for and he lifted with us for a week. he was 139 when he started with a 135 max bench. one year later he is 205 with a 225 bench (for reps!!!). 16 years old. he has long arms and legs but he is sticking with it. I saw his mother the other day and she said he was about to at eat them out of house and home. another success story for low volume heavy weight training. get back to us bro.
yea its tough for us long armed folk to bench! im 6'3"... i tend to arch my back to take some of the pressure off on the way down and also thats a lil less distance hehe... is that bad tho?
