I'm too big! Need to lose 30lbs of muscle!

Go with T3 then, calorif deficit. But it seems like a dumb idea anyways, why wouldnt you wanna go 6% rather than killing muscle mass?

Very funny replies. I'm 6'4. Six feet, 4 inches!!! Not 5'9. 270 is not that big a deal. I carry most of the weight in my dick. Pros at my height and bf are well over 300lb. There's an old rule of thumb that every inch of height equals 10lbs. 5'9 180lbs looks like 5'10 190lbs, 5'11 200lb...

I already mentioned the military will take me at 270. My concern is my size. All the jogging trashes my knees. I had my bf measured using 10 points with calipers. Visually, I can fully see my abs except for the linea alba.

3J, I appreciate your advice, but I think you're misunderstanding my goal. I am 270 at 10% (didn't think it would piss off so many guys). I know how to diet on drugs and get into competition shape. I would still be carrying to much size.

Navy SEALS and divers don't look like the juice heads that play them in the movies. I spent a day visiting a group of them and they're all 150-185lbs.

My goal is more like a UFC fighter in the 205lb weight class deciding he wants to drop to the 185lb class. If he's already shredded at 205, how does he get down to 185?

Seriously guys, 12 replies offering no advice and focusing on bf. Very "Jersey Shore" of you, lol.

tom im 6'4 275 myself.. so its not like i dont believe it..

i understand your goals.. i just believe a 2000 calorie diet is not the way to do it

I am 6'2" 270 and i can see my abs to but i aint 10% lol. More like 15%.

However, i feel your pain regarding knee and probably back pain from running too.

If you want to drop muscle then you have to stop lifting heavy plain and simple. Even the olympics can cause gain. Just go into a simple gym routine on the weights...15 reps medium weight, 3-5 sets. but keep your crossfit routine going..it is nice for weight loss just scale back your weight and stop trying to outlift everyone...you know you still are!!!

Reduce your protein intake a bit. But like 3j said not so low in calories. That would suck...maybe 2800 but keep the fat very low.

Think like a marathon runner not a weight lifter. Pics would be nice though...we all like to see what we all come here to accomplish and according to your specs you are right in there.

And the navy don't run that much...its not like your going to the army infantry or the marines. :shoot7:

Am I wrong in thinking that we are over-complicating this issue?

Eat healthy, and eat less. Since they will take you at your current weight, you aren't exactly on a strict timeline. Just start doing it right now, and you'll get a feel for how significant the changes in your diet and training are with respect to the results you get in weight and BF%. Pretty soon you'll know exactly what you need to do in order to achieve and maintain the size you're looking for.

I'll bet you know how to do that for your weight right now. It's the same thing, just with a different number as the goal.

Maybe stick to exercises that don't pound your joints in the meantime.

I don't know how long you've got till you join, but you sound like the kind of guy who's got the will to hit goals, in which case I'd imagine you'll start shredding pounds immediately.

Best of luck to ya.
